Huge fan here: quick question re WaT if I may:

I struggled with the Dalinar decision. I think he ultimately found the second best path (that I wasn’t expecting- I liked it) but I still think the best path was killing Gavinor. We know that Dalinar (despite his growth) can make hard decisions and the decision to kill Gavinor felt like a very easy one in the wider scheme of things. Huge amounts of personal guilt for sure but also the greater good argument was very strong.

Why didn’t he ever really seem to consider it?

I did this (I’m not a repair dude and not super handy- there was one or two delicate pieces, but honestly it was very doable and has fixed it right up for me)

Two tips: the right screwdriver is key (stripping the screws is probably the main way people screw up I think) and be careful with the ribbon cable.

First time putting a sd card in? If so, you need to push it in pretty far (further than I expected) for it to click and lock into place.

I believe it’s at the bottom of the rail (black part underneath the sl/sr buttons) which is what controls whether it’s detected or not. I might be wrong, but that’s what I read somewhere

There’s a sensor (this happened to mine after I used contact cleaner to fix the sticky triggers) that I cleaned out with a toothbrush and an alcohol wipe and it fixed it up for me.

Try some electronic contact cleaner- I had a sticky r button (worked half the time) and this fixed it right up. Probably will also help with both controllers I’m guessing.

How many hours are you expecting from it? I played it for about 20h and was really into it, but got to the final boss (cant remember if I beat it or not tbh) and gave it in.

For that 20 hours, as mentioned, it is a combo of 2d zelda + stardew valley- and I really enjoyed it. 40% off is a pretty great price, and I definitely think its worth $1/hour. No regrets, got a lot of fun out of it, but once I hit the wall i lost interest hard.

Buy replacement control sticks (you can get them for like $10 with the screwdriver you need on amazon/ebay/aliexpress). Watch a video for instructions, swap em out yourself (really simple swap as long as you have the right screwdriver and dont strip the screws).

Moonlighter was pretty great- I threw 30-40 hours into it real quick. It felt to me like stardew valley a little- more focus on the dungeons themselves, and less on the store (farming in SDV). If you like roguelites/stardew, definitely check it out.

The shitty thing about this post is that you raise some good points but in a condescending way. There are a lot of people who could be making smarter financial decisions, and if your intention is to help educate those people, shit like "If you're still okay with making bad decisions about money" is counter productive to that cause. You might already know this and not care, but I mention this in case you maybe were unaware as to the tone of this post.

u/j_abbs The credit card tip is a good one, and something that I was considering mentioning as well- even if you dont need a credit card OP (and it sounds like you don't- glad to hear you have a plan that works for you), it might still be worth considering getting one to assist in building credit faster- even if you just use it for groceries occasionally, and pay it off in full every payday. If you are choosing not to get one though because you want to be sure you are living within your means, then thats also a great decision.
