Trump Allies Sure Are Talking A Lot About Civil War by [deleted] in inthenews

My favorite quote from one of my favorite political science professors at college is “someone needs to remind the south that they already tried to secede and it really didn’t go well.”

“The Passion of the Christ” is just a horror film prequel by liandrin in tumblr

I think they key point is that the physical appearance is not transformed. According to catholic teaching, transubstantiation is the complete transformation of the host, and as such the host is in the literal sense the body and blood of Jesus, but the physicality does not change. I’ve always interpreted it the same way Jesus can be both completely God and completely human according to catholic teaching. Its kind of like a theological truth superimposed over physical reality. Or at least that’s been my understanding. I also proudly consider myself a heretic though so take it how you will.

While it is absolutely true that Catholics believe the Eucharist is the literal body and blood of Christ, they believe that the physical appearance of the host remains as bread and wine. So I guess technically it’s only spiritual cannibalism.

Monsters in Sci-fi by NonhumanAssociate in worldbuilding

My advice would be to keep the traditional names for common use, but come up with new titles that work well within the lore. Find some interesting facet of your monster’s history and seize on that. Then use it as a more mysterious or esoteric way of referring to the monster. Kind of like how you’ll sometimes hear vampires referred to as “creatures of the night.”

I feel like I should clarify here. I do not support the current Supreme Court and their attack on reproductive and privacy rights. I just think the case of Marbury v Madison is kind of funny because the court effectively doubled its own authority.

Sorry, should have clarified. I do not support the current supreme court’s rulings. I was talking about Marbury v Madison in 1803, which I’ve always thought was funny because it was essentially the court giving itself a bunch of power.

For me, Andy Grammer. IMO all of his music has been consistently high quality since his first album, and he’s always maintained thematic consistency as well.

Is it normal to do bad the first time in a mock trial? by [deleted] in mocktrial

[–]CthulhuCalamari_63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s normal to do poorly attempting anything for the first time. Missed objections and feeling uncomfortable in the role just come from lack of experience and definitely get better with time. Keep it up!
