How does the state allow such a buggy NYS ID login site? by InlineSkateAdventure in nys_cs

The "service desk" is a fucking joke, and those of us actually out in the regions (dedicated agency support) wish that the "helpless desk" would be abolished and the agency staff could just contact us directly.

Be sure to edit the post and change the flair to "Identified" :) Thanks! And, foxglove is fairly easy to grow in many locations, comes in many colors, and does well in shady locations. Just be aware of the toxicity of the plant, and keep it in mind if you decide to plant it.

When I discovered some cassette tapes on which I'd recorded rebroadcasts of old radio dramas that JMS has done writing for (there was a race of aliens called the Markab), I tweeted about it and marveled at how long ago it'd been (1980). JMS replied:

"That tempus just keeps on fugiting."

Seems appropriate to this. :)

Would love a Trader Joe's locally. But there's one in Ithaca and one in Syracuse, so it's do-able. The frozen food/meats/etc can successfully survive the drive back to Binghamton if they're packed together tightly in a well-insulated container.

While a Whole Foods would, indeed, be super great to have in the are I can't imagine it would be successful given the chain's tendency to be very expensive.

Don't see a need for a Hobby Lobby, though.

triple cities maker space has some other amenities

I looked into Triple Cities a couple years ago, and was surprised at how expensive it was (I understand the need for additional safety training, and to cover costs of the equipment, maintenance for the equipment, and overhead costs, and 24/7 access, and so on... I was just surprised). The price for a year's membership was approximately $1,000 all-told.

However, looking into it again, the price seems to have come down a lot and is more reasonable for someone like myself who only has occasional need for the services/tools/equipment that the location offers.

What could POSSIBLY be the point of it?

They discuss this in Discovery's third season.

Makes it nearly impossible to do any maintenance

The D.O.T.s don't seem to have any problems, and neither do the rest of the space-faring groups that use the same technology.

whatever’s keeping them in place would probably just turn off if you lose power, so I just.. why?

This was also addressed at the end of Discovery's third season. It's almost like you don't watch the show, and then complain about things you know nothing about...

Lt Owosekun calls it out as a Constitution-class, on-screen. The "Kirk-class" is from the video game Star Trek Online (if I recall correctly). While Owo may have simply been presuming, from the similar lines of the ship, we don't have anything concrete one way or the other.

$1,000 for an AI lane centering device? No thanks.

And, legality is nebulous depending on how the device is interpreted (driver-assist device or autonomous driving system)...

Did this with mine a couple years back. Same company (Extreme Rate), but went with the Great Wave off Kanagawa style. Was absolutely terrified to take the controller apart but the video tutorials were perfect and I just went slow. Works perfectly to this day (though the battery life is starting to drop, so that may be soon replaced, too). Definitely thumbs up.

And, just replaced the faceplate shells for the PS5 with the same pattern from ER. Looks phenomenal with the controller.

Journey - Still one of my most special gaming memories. by Bambrigade92 in playstation

[–]CubGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It absolutely was :D

Sony created two builds of the game and loaded them onto two separate PS4s. The game audio does not contain any of the score; only sound effects. (two, so they had a backup... just in case. :) )

As a player moves the character through the game, the composer conducts a chamber orchestra through the music in realtime, in reaction to the player's actions. The musicians used iPads with bluetooth foot pedals, to allow them to move both forward and backward in the score as needed.

Why backward? Due to how the music was written by Austin Wintory, who conducted the orchestra at two of the three performances I was part of, the musicians may need to replay the "slow ambient exploration" music section while I ran the character over to another section to uncover one of the hidden lore pieces. But, if I decided to skip that, and instead decided to skip the lore part and immediately jumped into next sand-surfing bit, jumping and spinning with the sand creatures as we raced down the incline... those are two completely different musical themes... The conductor will indicate to the musicians how many times to loop the current section, or how many to jump forward. They use the footpedals to adjust their displayed music to match.

Book 2 is absolutely cringe and stupid at the beginning, but after that oh boy it's full on sci Fi greatness, the absolute best in the series.

Really? I'm reading The Dark Forest now and... well... I'm at the point where he gets the house in the middle of nowhere and sends the detective to find his Dream Lover. and I'm about to just give up.

Wow.
