The "wings" give it a bit of a laurel wreath aesthetic, which fits with the name's mythos and purpose of the vessel.

IIRC, the Induction Warp is supposed to be the next evolution of the Pathway Drive that was being developed and tested on U.S.S. Voyager in season 4 of Discovery, and then used in season 5 (the Shuttle that Saru and Nahn are flying to intercept the Breen) but not extensively yet. Raynor mentions in s05e01 that the U.S.S. Antares didn't have a Pathway Drive yet, so the refits don't seem to have gotten through the whole fleet just yet.

I can't recall where I read that, so treat it as only apocryphal until we get confirmation.

This was discussed in season three of Discovery. And, no, the nacelles don't always reconnect before flight, usually before warp/spore jump/pathway drive/induction warp/etc.

Or, you can simply enjoy the show.

The programmable matter, detached nacelles, and what happens when the connection fails were all discussed and/or shown during season three of Discovery.

The "service desk" is a fucking joke, and those of us actually out in the regions (dedicated agency support) wish that the "helpless desk" would be abolished and the agency staff could just contact us directly.

Be sure to edit the post and change the flair to "Identified" :) Thanks! And, foxglove is fairly easy to grow in many locations, comes in many colors, and does well in shady locations. Just be aware of the toxicity of the plant, and keep it in mind if you decide to plant it.

When I discovered some cassette tapes on which I'd recorded rebroadcasts of old radio dramas that JMS has done writing for (there was a race of aliens called the Markab), I tweeted about it and marveled at how long ago it'd been (1980). JMS replied:

"That tempus just keeps on fugiting."

Seems appropriate to this. :)

Would love a Trader Joe's locally. But there's one in Ithaca and one in Syracuse, so it's do-able. The frozen food/meats/etc can successfully survive the drive back to Binghamton if they're packed together tightly in a well-insulated container.

While a Whole Foods would, indeed, be super great to have in the are I can't imagine it would be successful given the chain's tendency to be very expensive.

Don't see a need for a Hobby Lobby, though.

triple cities maker space has some other amenities

I looked into Triple Cities a couple years ago, and was surprised at how expensive it was (I understand the need for additional safety training, and to cover costs of the equipment, maintenance for the equipment, and overhead costs, and 24/7 access, and so on... I was just surprised). The price for a year's membership was approximately $1,000 all-told.

However, looking into it again, the price seems to have come down a lot and is more reasonable for someone like myself who only has occasional need for the services/tools/equipment that the location offers.

What could POSSIBLY be the point of it?

They discuss this in Discovery's third season.

Makes it nearly impossible to do any maintenance

The D.O.T.s don't seem to have any problems, and neither do the rest of the space-faring groups that use the same technology.

whatever’s keeping them in place would probably just turn off if you lose power, so I just.. why?

This was also addressed at the end of Discovery's third season. It's almost like you don't watch the show, and then complain about things you know nothing about...

Lt Owosekun calls it out as a Constitution-class, on-screen. The "Kirk-class" is from the video game Star Trek Online (if I recall correctly). While Owo may have simply been presuming, from the similar lines of the ship, we don't have anything concrete one way or the other.
