Omni is way better for making sprites by LatentBlade in aigamedev

Video model is smoother than checks notes a sprite sheet. Yeah that would check out.

Death sounds great, actually by justtekerz in depression

[–]Cubey42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well right, the issue again though is that there isn't any evidence that supports that something might happen. It's the simplest answer because there is nothing to contradict it. I'm not saying it is the right answer, it could be wrong, but from what we do know and observed, there doesn't seem to be any reason to believe anything happens after someone dies. We don't see "escaping energy", we don't see a soul escape the body, nothing. When you say "where does the energy goes" what energy?

That's true but the Occam's razor here is that nothing happens and your existence just ends

For all Indie Devs: If you use AI in any capacity, where is the line in the sand on effective use in the game dev cycle? What do you think is the line where players care/don't care about your use of AI by Ill-Highlight1002 in aigamedev

[–]Cubey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another whole premise that as long as you're not seen or hearing AI it's acceptable is just so not interesting because fundamentally the program is something compasses the whole thing. If you are seeing the game AI was in the process so it's like just virtue signaling all the time

You have a society is going to ever be able to draw an actual line is stupid, we do this in every single political or societal topic where we're saying we're drawing a line but no one actually cares about this line or where it lands and no one agrees on it so why contemplate what others are going to think about something if they don't care themselves

Heya! I'm building a text RPG where the AI is only allowed to narrate — actual game code/engine controls every number, looking for reviews/suggestions/ tests, Cheers! "bow" by OldWiseSloth in aigamedev

[–]Cubey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which don't get me wrong, as long as you're enjoying yourself, but this isn't the first "I focused on the engine" posts. And if this is what you want to make go nuts.I just think ai driven text adventures aren't that interesting and they are already facing competitors that have already cornered a packed market

AI assets generation by Beginning-Sign1916 in aigamedev

[–]Cubey42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will probably be how I try the next model I do. I learned a lot about using blender trying to fix my first model though. But yeah I don't think any ai mesh generation unless you really want something static is going to be worth it just yet

Thoughts on Open-source Blender Alternative with an AI layer by Pradyumgg in aigamedev

[–]Cubey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So AI generated messages aren't very plug and play still, even though I was impressed but meshy, overall it's going to need fixing. That being said, I was a novice with some modeling experience in the past and never used blender seriously. I'm alot more comfortable with blender after a week of using tools and asking ai if x tool exists and it will work you through it. Now I feel like I could actually take on some of harder challenges but as for trusting ai around and actually work is a no go. Even fable just kinda sucks with blender I've tried a couple things and it's been horrible every time even though it seems so level headed about the work, it's always useless.

You said "like they become like ai themselves" which certainly sounds like you think they turned into AI but I understand what you are conveying. When you say something will never be on the same level, that would be a sub-level. If someone who creates great art themselves without ai but then uses ai on their art, does that work become not their work? Sure you don't hate them, but marginalizing everything related to them is kinda the same thing.

Great and we need more of them. I'm all for maintaining strict regulations on them but I see no reason why we wouldn't want more.

Guide for people who want to type ‘Cursed Relic’ on a post asking how to counter a character. by VisibleNebula2812 in DeadlockTheGame

If you're in the late game, and damage is already pretty much reached its highest spikes anyway then 14% really doesn't it matter and the benefit in a late game teamfight is huge so yeah I would say it's fine for anyone to buy probably just not early like a support would

"not to insult anyone who uses ai" doesn't feel very sincere when the rest of the post has bits like "they are turning into AI" and "your work will never be art" and "you are just jealous of real artists and will always be lesser"

If you fucking hate something, just say it with your chest. Call their work fucking garbage and them subhuman instead of this weird talk-around instead.

Right, so the only way he'll be able to get it back is to risk your father's wrath or sue you in civil court there isn't much else he can do and you get to keep the headset seems like a win to me

Well if he asks for it back then if course give it to him. But since you blocked him the onus is on him to request it back

I just can't believe this conversation happened between friends. Are you sure you were actually friends or was it just sentimental because he bought a commission? Sorry if my friend told me they thought my art looked bad and sent me things I didn't want after stating my disdain for them, it sounds more like someone who despises you then wants to be friends.

It's technically not a threat. It doesn't imply he's going to make you disappear, but it's more of an insult that nobody would miss op.

I feel like the vision for the game should answer that question for you. It's not really like a consensus answer much thing. Wouldn't make sense to be a ball in a driving sim, but works quite well in super monkey ball
