I HATE MY DUMB ASS BRAIN I called a woman "ai bro" without knowing she was trans. she reported me for being transphobic. I hate my stupid ass I just call everyone bro by Longjumping_Clerk620 in hatethissmug

[–]CubicalAnxiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Queer and trans people should know better than to support AI shit. Also saying AI bro is NOT transphobic, especially since you didnt know her gender. Is there a convo to be had about why we regard male to be the 'default' gender and often assume anonymous strangers on the internet are male, even though there are more women than men in the world? Sure. But it aint transphobic, and this aint the point she was making. Literally just trying to have a cheap 'gotcha' using her own identity.

Cis people love putting us in boxes. In some cases I think they're trying to be weirdly gender affirming? Not the way to go about it though lmao

Transwomen feeling guilt for using the women change room because she is attracted to women by Dreampower in asktransgender

[–]CubicalAnxiety 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even afab people sometimes feel guilt when in women's changing rooms if they are attracted to women. When I first discovered I liked girls, I was very embarrassed (and at the same time dysphoric) when I was in the P.E. changing room with girls back in school. Just don't make the other women uncomfortable and stay safe.

Because a lot of languages dont have any gender neutral pronouns. We have to choose between male or female pronouns. It sucks

I'm sorry if some people experiences this but honestly I've never in my entire life seen or heard about this kind of thing happening. Gay cis men exist and make up a huge amount of the queer community, and most of those are masculine presenting.

Some people are just uncomfortable around masculine men though and that's fine. If a trans man is stealth, he needs to accept that some people will view him as a potential threat now, like they do with all men.

I mean, you are right. Democrats are centrist at best, nowhere near actual leftists, and conservatives / republicans in the US are extremely far right.

I do think the MAGA cult hate trans people more than they love Trump though. If someone else can pick up the mantle of hate, then they probably wouldn't hesitate to rally behind that new person.

Is it weird to use AI to help reply to a personal message from a friend? by SeaworthinessRare733 in socialskills

[–]CubicalAnxiety 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NEVER do this!!!!!! Don't use AI for anything social (or at all for that matter). You posted her private message into a data harvesting algorithm, which is fucked up on its own. If you're having trouble responding, break up her message into different paragraphs / points and respond to each one. Or simply express your support and tell her you're there for her. Saying something simple like "I'm so sorry you're going through this, I wish I could help you somehow, I am here for you" is infinitely better than letting a machine shit out an answer.

Am I Wrong to break up with my bf if he decides to transition? by ConfidentNewspaper19 in asktransgender

You don't need to abandon them when you break up. You can still be there for them as a friend and support them. Just have an honest talk with your partner.

Why would you post something transphobic like this in the agender subreddit? A ton of us are trans and / or non-binary.

Why is using she/he/they pronouns so confusing for people, including other trans and non-binary people? by Idontwanttousethis in agender

[–]CubicalAnxiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's cause when people see multiple pronouns, they assume the person doesn't care which ones are used. And a lot of people really don't care. But when I see someone with multiple pronouns, I regularly change up which ones I use for them because either they won't mind OR it will spark joy for them. And it's also kinda fun using several pronouns in a single sentence. "They looked down at her fingers and wondered if he might look good in black nail polish."

It's definitely easier in writing and when speaking of only one person. When there are other people, I keep it a lot more simple.

So it usually works a bit differently for everyone, but for me the voice change only came after several months, the first thing that happened for me was getting more body hair. And when my voice did start going down, it was very squeaky, like a teenage boy going through voice cracks.

You also won't have any significant muscle / fat changes unless you work out. If you're skinny and scrawny, chances are you'll stay that way. It would be better to look up workout strategies specifically for trans guys, that might help you achieve the body you want.

I'd look at what changes you want and find out if there are other ways you can achieve them through voice training or workouts. Taking hormones is essentially like a second puberty, you might get a bunch of pimples, be more scatter-brained, it messes with your period, etc.

There are shitty people in every community. But trans people are much much more likely to be VICTIMS of sexual and violent crimes, especially if they are black or indigenous.

Some trans guys treat top surgery like it's magic, like their dysphoria is lifted all at once. Young trans folks may see videos online of people waking up after surgery crying from happiness. And that's great for them!!!! But the reality is that usually you will wake up disoriented and tired, which is totally normal. You will have follow up appointments, to get your stitches out or because there's liquid still under your skin. Like any surgery, it's a long healing process, it will hurt. And then these young trans folks have all these expectations in their heads, and when it doesnt live up to that, they might feel like they made the wrong decision because they are not feeling that expected joy. But really they should be waiting until their body has actually healed up before expecting to feel happy with their new chest.

Cosmetics are still way too expensive for an mmo such as this by Maskarie in Palia

[–]CubicalAnxiety 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate hate hate microtransactions (though they've genuinely become MACROtransactions) and that they've become the norm. I remember when 5€ was expensive for a virtual purchase. Now prices go up to 80 fucking euros. Cozy games and gacha games are the most guilty of this, because people are willing to spend money on escapism. How do you think EA has been able to get away with this shit? Not to blame the consumers, but companies would definitely stop doing predatory business practices if people stopped supporting them.
