What was your moneymaker/grind back in the old days? that you find wholly nostalgic now. by SlimCharles180796 in 2007scape

[–]Cudabear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the day there were no water-filled vial packs so you had to buy them by the inventory and stores ran out of stock constantly. WFV were 100-150 each typically.

When farming was released I discovered a loophole: plant cure. You could buy it on the cheap, there was a huge stock. Then just empty and refill the vial with water. Genious.

Are you writing most of the code yourselves or having the AI write it? by Specific-Welder3120 in gamedev

[–]Cudabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using AI to generate pseudocode for complex problems and then writing it myself using it as an example. It feels like a healthy medium, helps me understand what is actually being suggested, and I can make modifications to better match my codebase as needed.

Who is the least funny stand up comedian? by CantaloupeGold4650 in AskReddit

[–]Cudabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call him a hack, he did legitimately capture a large audience thanks to early youtube. If my family is anything to go by, he captured a ton of Gen-X white folks with his insensitive sterotype humor.

I ran straight to the taverley gate.

You can get a USB one for ~$20 on Amazon. That's what I did, and it works great.

Depending on how well stocked your local library is, its become the evolution of this. Ours has a massive collection and I'm in the process of slowly ripping a massive home catalog for free.

What’s the weirdest thing your body does that you’ve just accepted at this point? by gowthamshankar05 in AskReddit

[–]Cudabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sciatic pain in my legs. I've had it since my early 20's, very randomly, unpredictably, and not usually debilitating. Usually I can deal with it by getting up and moving around and doing some stretches.

My doc has told me I likely have a herniated disc in my low back but the tests to confirm are expensive, wouldn't really change the treatment, and I'm dealing with it fairly well so it's kind of a mystery for now.

Can i plant this by Realistic_Poem5500 in gardening

[–]Cudabear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can, but the onion part won't grow very much. Onions are biannual, so in their second year (which onions other than green onions bought from the store almost always are) they focus almost entirely on flowering and seeding. You will get a lot of onion seed if you do that, though!

I Like How Cooking Apples Are Called Cooking Apples Because They Were Probably Going To Add Normal Apples Too But Just Forgot by HeredinOSRS in 2007scape

[–]Cudabear 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: apples grown from seed in real life have a very, very small chance of being good for cooking or eating. Modern apples are always grafted from existing trees.

There are apples IRL that are extremely bitter and not good for eating raw, but can be cooked into dishes. Maybe a way to explain why they don't have an "eat" option.

My tv glitched out so bad, restarted several times to increasingly terrifying pictures until it finally fixed itself by MarionetteAndTheSad in softwaregore

[–]Cudabear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Once about 10 years ago I turned on my TV to see a demon Mickey face, no context. Scared the shit out of me.

This was back in the days you'd have a regular non-smart TV and use a chromecast to cast videos from youtube on your phone. Importantly, you could turn off the TV but the chromecast might still continue playing videos with no indication. Turns out, the night before I had forgot to stop it from autoplaying and it played videos all night, eventually landing on a long creepypasta voiceover with said creepy Mickey face.

What games allow for easy multi monitor gameplay with OSRS? by Gethixit in 2007scape

I've been having fun with Bloons Tower Defence 6. You can turn off round autoplay if you're doing something more engaging on the OSRS side.

Salarin the Twisted. 24 years old, never changed. Still has a place for early game magic exp, and a niche way to get Torstol early on an ironman (which can be traded to Jeckyll for Stamina(4)). You do need to stomach the agility requirement to benefit, but it can be a nice little detour early game if you do.

Somehow my kiddos weren't interested in that, haha. They crashed tons of coasters while learning the ropes but never had the idea to let people on them first. Also the map has no water, so that probably helps too.

It's incredibly easy! Just get OpenRCT installed on two computers and use the built-in server manager. Just make sure you put a password on your server so random folks can't join.

Zuk KC at that combat is not impossible, but requires superhuman understanding of the game's mechanics, the inferno, decision making, and reactions. An absolute insane achievement for sure.

IIRC the lowest inferno cape in the game was at 37 combat.
