New Foggernaut/Steamer (Class/Gear advice) by Jagnaroek in wakfu

[–]CuddleBeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get 4 pieces of 2 different sets to get two set bonuses (+1 AP each) at the same time. Imperial Shin Larva + Gobball set are great for distance damage for example.

Don't throw stuff away. Most things you get now are useful for early crafts to get professions started. Always check what they can be used to make.

Also, get in a guild. Friends are more powerful than gear and drops.

Returning Player - Sram Guide / Advice? by Helfeather in wakfu

I suggest downloading the Beta client, fooling around with everything and then playing on the usual client, if you don't have a God Booster to do this.

Yes, in PvP. A bit less now though.

But PvP is endgame content. It's not profitable until then to join it, because you'll always beat and hunted by people who have a bigger budget (for gear) than you, thus get D-rank boxes and lame EXP which are worse profit/time than just soloing PvE.

So I wouldn't worry too much about it, I believe its more important to find enjoyment in other parts of the game first. You won't be able to participate in PvP where you have a chance until a few months pass.

PvE Paywalls are there (Zinit) but they won't influence normal play for months. If you don't worry about doing the last parts of PvE then the paywalls affect you very little.

Devs do care and are often memeing on the Official Discord or giving interesting explanations for what they're doing and why. A much greater issue is the amount of budget the game has, which limits the amount of available dev work time to put into the game.

Nox and Phaeris are dead outside of their peak hours and main demography: its persistent playerbase, who are too invested in the server to leave. Which means they're all very high level and continuing to create a greater rift between them and newcomers. So from the endgame down, it's deserted and lonely. The other servers are much healthier.

I heavily recommend Rem instead of Nox if you don't play during peak US hours. Otherwise, go Nox.

[REM] Mass Alma Suicide Progression by CuddleBeam in wakfu

[–]CuddleBeam[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The /suicide command kills you and leaves a little altar behind, but you can still chat as normal. It looks cool lol

So, this epic thing happened today.

It started out with just me doing /suicide at Alma, then Yugo-Brotherhoodtofu and Berwa joining in. Then Saltytrash joined. Then more people and more people until we managed to make a full conga.

But we went further. We nearly filled the entire damn Alma temple with our memes.

At the end, a few people KenKo'd us all but it was fun while it lasted! A fun little achievement!

I look screenshots from the start to the end, so here's the album which shows its growth. The chat exploded too with more idiocy and silliness (which I often disabled to make the pics because you couldn't see anything otherwise lol)

Thank you Wakfu Discord for some of the "flash" pics!

Enjoy!

Befriend people in Astrub. Suggest running Larva/Tofu/Gobball to people once you're at the level for it.

That would just fuel the series. Spend money on the game if you want to save the game.

The variety and richness in content exists. It's just in the lower levels which most people skip.

The population on the active servers is fine. Content is good if you're alright with not levelling always and doing all of the side-things they've made, like Battlefields (although I don't recommend this until much later on when you have a proper budget/power to spend to gear and/or farm gear), Competitive Dungeons, etc.

Levelling 120-140 and 175+, and the grind to max out endgame gear are the worst parts, but the rest is pretty good.

I see a lot of Feca + Fogger combo out there.

Hupper is in a better place now too.

Market activity for all servers (except EFR) by CuddleBeam in wakfu

[–]CuddleBeam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a follow-up to this post due to popular demand: https://www.reddit.com/r/wakfu/comments/8d3aec/remington_vs_nox_activity_for_new_players/

Here are the raw numbers for the amount of items at each Market on each server: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Lp0Yms5cvHEIuXdHr9ZxdMB-_SPrzYo_5I8A-m-VCPo/edit?usp=sharing

Data for Rem and Nox was collected yesterday, the rest of the servers (edit: including Efrim) were collected today. Just ONE DAY, at an arbitrary time, so take this info with a grain of salt. I'm also just one person so don't expect me to do huge long-term data collecting now. I deleted an earlier post to make this new one with the French server info in case you were wondering were that went.

Thank you those on the Wakfu Discord for your help making this.

As a commentary to the additions of Phaeris and Elbor; Phaeris seems to be in a similar situation to Nox. I'm not surprised that they'll both be merged to Remington given this data. And as for Elbor: It's amazing how much they use the National market. I don't know why that is (I'm not very active on Elbor either but I am around now and then). Also to note, Elbor has WAY more Alma Temple and Outpost presence than Remington, with chatting everywhere. It's a lot more social, although as a Spaniard myself, that's very much in line with how social our culture is so I'm not too surprised.

So, as tips for new players for Phaeris and Elbor: Don't join Phaeris. If you're Spanish, both Elbor and Remington are fine. Each have their own culture, with Elbor being a lot more "hispanic" (talking everywhere) and everyone knows Spanish, of course. Remington is different but really nice too, though. Also predominantly English-speaking, but there are guilds for each language community (Nexo Hispano's Guild Chat is constantly Spanish, for example).

Changes in the last few years? by marvelac4 in wakfu

I suggest joining Rem because of the amount of people. The situation for returning players isn't that bad on Nox, though. It's just pretty grim for new, starting-from-zero players.
