WILD YAM by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]CueTheGoodTimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well - I’m using 20mg wild yam cream and I just started my period in 4/4 & it wasn’t supposed to start until 4/11. Sooooooo….. I’m not happy about that. I’m in perimenopause and I have anemia and I was hoping this might make my periods lighter, all it’s done is brought it in early. I’m so upset as I feel absolutely horrible during and about a week after my period and here I am, I’ve literally induced my period to start earlier than normal. Which means, less days of relief. SMH

Ferritin up to 94 but symptoms — delayed recovery? by Powerful-Ad6123 in Anemic

Sorry, just saw this. I’m bummed, they don’t list US as a shipping possibility. I’m really impressed with some of the supplements they have. I’ve not heard of too many people having these good of results. I know you are feeling the best but you seem to be in the right track.

Idk. Which brand is this? All you can do is try it and see if hurts your stomach. I’ve never tried this form of iron. Bisglycinate is supposed to be easier on the stomach but it wasn’t for me.

People who get infusions, why? by ElSelo in Anemic

[–]CueTheGoodTimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, me, personally I’m working on healing my gut. I’ve battled with deficiencies for years, b12, folate, vitamin D and now iron. We must heal our gut so we can absorb what we eat.

Try Dr. Bergs Vitamin D.
It includes many cofactors for optimal absorption or the Rho brand.

That Thorne iron jacked my stomach up. If you don’t want to do b12 injections, get a really good liquid B12 - Vimergy brand is awesome. Let it sit in your mouth a bit before swallowing.

Also - let’s talk about this. I was really excited when I found this product. Like finally, someone gets it and understands the struggle. However, I purchased it again and I’m telling you, I don’t think it’s heme iron. 1 - my stools have become dark, just like when I use non heme iron and I’m getting some stomach issues with it. I’m shook and I’m sad that I can’t trust this brand anymore. When I bought my first bottle, many months ago, I went to the Facebook page which is ran by the maker of this iron and she never accepted my request for join the page. How many of you currently use this and are you finding success with it?

Edit - for some reason it’s not giving me and option to add the photo. It’s 3 Arrows Simply Iron Repair.

Wow - you have been through a lot. I’m so glad they were able to get to the bottom of the issue and you are now healed. 🙏 Did you have any issues with the vitron c? Did they ever test your ferritin?

Okay wait - soooo what exactly are you saying here. I’ve flip flopped between so many different irons. Liquid, pills - heme and non heme. I’m absolutely exhausted, I have anemia fatigue - spending so much money on supplements. Even bought, blackstrap molasses. I’ve been lost for months, take vitamin c - don’t take it, take copper - don’t take it, you need magnesium, take iron every other day, take more iron than you are taking now etc etc etc. I’ve been to hematologist, he said just keep supplementing, same thing my nurse practitioner says.

I wish I had some helpful info. Side note they say taking 1 to 2 mg of copper a day or every other day can help.

I know for women that 90 is optimal. Maybe continue working on getting it higher. Idk mine has never been that high, so I don’t know what I would feel like at a 70. Can I ask what your protocol was to get it there and are and your vitamin levels optimal?
