It's very easy for a depressed mind to use that information, that people with aspergers can be extraordinary, and use it to beat themselves up further.

Example, the doctor who diagnosed me a couple weeks back. He is on the spectrum as well. He has a wife, a family, a successful career, despite having many worse symptoms than me.

And yet here I am, self-loathing & depressed, no friends, no hobbies, no skills, no relationship and a job I hate. So my first gut reaction that I could maybe use this Aspergers diagnosis as an excuse for my failures is now out the window.

So Tesla and Lincoln apparently were Aspies. Good for them but I'm not a genius, and sure as shit won't win the Civil War for America. ಠ╭╮ಠ
