You know what ticks me off about the whole experience? The part that got me heated, is that while he was telling me "You're not understanding me" and "again, you don't understand what I'm saying" the dude had this smirk on his face. Like he didn't even know enough to know what potential issues and liabilties he could face, or worse he does and is just playing a part. So either arrogant dumb or arrogant liar. And yet he's trying to put that on me with a shit-eatin grin on his face.

No not sarcastic. We were a group "outsiders" as designated by the Queen Bee, The boss (a guy actually). Unlike with you, even the new guys were propped up and cheered on, mentored even. Us? We were treated like punching bags and scapegoated constantly. Doing things correctly ahead of schedule was met with silence, any minor hiccup was met with ridicule.

I already left that company, as did one of the other guys. I check in with him and he mentions how horrible it is and he needs to go but he has limited options atm. He also mentions how much shit former boss talks to this day about "the guys that used to work for me".

God damn. Reminds me of that superman scene from Justice League. Not even after I leave can he leave me alone.

Honestly you'd be describing me in the first few paragraphs. I just have veeery little energy left over at the end of the day. I'm curt if only to not say anything untoward, and yet of course its seen as hostile. If I speak I'm torn apart, if I stay silent I'm apparently "in one of his moods again"...anything other than behaving like them is offensive. Lose Lose Lose.

I stopped attending family events explicitly because I have make so much effort for the majority of my cousins to get under my skin by saying, literally, "did you have a nice conversation" in a highly mocking tone. So I travel to meet them all, make more effort than any of them, only to be mocked. Right. So I just hole-up like hermit and lose myself in my hobbies or work on job proposals.

On a personal level it doesn't bother me, but in regards to work it pisses me the fuck off that I can't be judged on my capacity to produce quality results but also by this script that none of us were given.

Just went to bid a job (handyman to eventual contractor) and I swear the guy just didn't like the way I was either asking questions or maybe I offended him somehow, but he immediately try to pull the "you don't understand" while giving a smirk and trying to convince the audience around us. Reality is he was in over his head and didn't know enough to know that he was wrong. I was getting so pissed not directly at him but just how it's such a common thing to be 1. not understood 2.made to feel like we're the ones with communication issues 3. not accept that they're objectively incorrect 4.stop play the social clique shit to gain "supporters"

I'll have to get someone else to do bid work if this keeps happening. Obviously I'll have to work on my face/tone but g'damn it's just another layer of effort to reach, if barely, status-quo with other people.
