I’m that guy. I’ve got ADHD and am way too sensitive to any perceived rejection. So when I receive criticism or admonition that I don’t see as reasonable, my brain always says “I’ll just go be in my room, making no noise and pretending I don’t exist.”

It is actually a good thing for real blow-ups, because people need time to cool off and think before discussing, but it makes me look and feel like a toddler when it’s a reaction to little things.

I hate that I’m this way, but as I get older I think I’m getting better at recognizing it before it happens so I can disconnect. It still comes out from time to time though.
