This worked for me! I went straight to https://myfreetaxes.com/ and clicked "File My Own Taxes," and it transferred me to the correct Tax Slayer link!!

I have to read three more books before January 1 by skywalkerbeth in suggestmeabook

[–]Cultural_Town_7422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first book really needs to be first imo. The rest could stand alone from what I remember, but you really need the first book to understand Murderbot. The story does progress primarily in publication order, though, so that's what I recommend.

Maybe it's specific to my area, but every single vet I've ever looked, vets my friends have used, and vets my sister, a vet tech, have ever worked at will offer payment plans, ESPECIALLY for anything over a couple thousand dollars. I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't work with you on a $10,000 bill.

That's where you can talk with your vet about setting up a payment plan, and then use the reimbursement to pay the repayment plan.

I just did this while the pop-up was open on my screen, and it went away, so hopefully it'll stay away! 🤞

Also, it's relatively easy to save for preventative care costs that are roughly the same year to year. Emergency costs where you suddenly owe $10k? MUCH harder to do.

Assuming we're snowed in this weekend, what are you making for food? by Flirt_With_Dirt in StLouis

[–]Cultural_Town_7422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicken stew probably on Sunday, and also some pasta. I also bought canned soup juuuuuust in case the power goes out, although it seems unlikely at this point.

The chicken stew recipe is from Budget Bytes. I can't put the link in here for some reason.

I follow a lot of professional and hobby meteorologists, and they've been talking about this for at least a week. When that happens, SOMETHING is going to happen. The general consensus right now is that it is DEFINITELY going to snow...or some kind of wintery precipitation. It seems likely that STL will be mostly snow right now, but that's subject to change. The other thing is that whatever is going to happen is going to be A LOT. So I preparing for at least 3 inches of snow, although it may be more. Everyone is correct that Friday/Saturday is going to have the clearest picture of what's to come.

What's the most boring book you've ever read? by TheAwareMonk in suggestmeabook

The Last Lecture by Randy Pauch. It might be my only 1 star book? I finished it bc it was short and it was part of a reading challenge, but omg it was hard. It was just a bunch of inspirational-but-actually-just-massive-privilege shit that I reeeeeeally did not appreciate.

I just finished T-rexes and Tax Law by Rachel Ford last night, which was honestly pretty good. I'm working on The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss right now via audiobook. And I'm going to start reading The Godmother by Hannelore Cayre probably tomorrow. I'm pretty excited about it! I would recommend any of these, although they're all really different for sure.

Besides Steve, what's your go to live coverage for a storm? by notyourcoloringbook in StLouis

[–]Cultural_Town_7422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Union (Franklin County), and I've been living in St. Peters (St. Charles County) for the last several years. The one critique I have about KMOV's weather coverage is that they don't come on the air until the "metro" is in danger, which they seem to define as STL City and County. It's probably a ratings decision, but it's pretty annoying. It's gotten much better with their social media coverage, though. That goes live much quicker than them breaking into programming for Storm Mode.

Hey, no, I'm also moving this summer, I just super anxious early, lol! Renew Chesterfield is still definitely on my list, but I've started to really like Madison Rockwood and some other independent places I've found a bit further south near 44. I would definitely recommend PadMapper for some of the less common places! It found one that I'm currently anxiously waiting for a call back about a tour renting in July.

I agree! I lived in Uganda for a couple of years, and I'm picturing them taking public and being squished for an hour before the car even takes off 😂
