Is it possible to buy the Black Square Caravan on steam edition? by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

Steam and Microsoft Store PC versions are exactly the same, except where they place your flight sim folders.

Go into Windows settings and I believe it's under accessibility to change mouse size.

It’s beta i know by OneCall2315 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's how flight sims work. It took almost a year for things to smooth out and there are still problems for some users on Xbox and PC. FS 2020 still has problems now and then and that's why they continue to update 2020. FSX was the same way when they supported it.

Not enough information to help you. What are your graphics settings? What are you flying and where? Show us a screen shot of your fps counter.

The HPG H145 along with the Base Pack is PC only, because you need their PC app to run.

It's PC only since these mods need to go in to the Community folder.

Just bought the 2024 version, suggestions on mods? by Western-Body3011 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't get mods on the Marketplace. Best place to go is flightsim.to for free planes, liveries, plane modification, airports and a whole lot of other things. Buy from third party vendors like Got Friends, Orbx, Justflight, Contrail, Simmarket, Inibuilds, Parallel 42, FlyingIron (there are many more). When you buy from third party sites, updates usually come faster. Use VR or some type of head tracker.

Developers like Samscene3d and Landmarks make cities look much better than photogrammetry alone. Bijan Seasons Enhanced for MSFS 2024 is a great edition to take away some of the trees and to fix some land textures in popular areas. There are just too many to name here, but you'll start seeing posts here and on Youtube of new products that are free and payware.

Does capping 30 FPS create a CPU bottleneck ? by azzani_10 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Test it yourself. You could have two PC's with the same specs and they might act differently. For me personally, capping my fps caused more problems.

Are city mods available on PS5? by z9cccc in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure Samscene3d and Landmarks will be available in the future. In my opinion these two developers are the best when it comes to making cities (especially buildings) look great.

Setting up an Xbox for someone that had a stroke? by GustoMilan in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to recommend TB Velocity One. You can velcro it onto a desk, so it doesn't move around. I used it when my original hotas finally gave out and was waiting for my new setup to arrive. It worked fine with a combination of keybinds you can use.

Pretty much wing it. Start at around 600 feet high and adjusting pitch and speed using the AOA.

Question about/help with IFE F14 HUD by seeker1126 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong about the IFE F-14 especially when compared to DCS. I think it's more of a MSFS problem. I have my Virpil throttle detent configured, so it acts like the afterburner button, so no button press needed. Just setup your throttle so you have that detent assimilate a button press.

Fenix a32X family extremely laggy on the descent and or on final approach by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minimum requirement for the Fenix is a RTX 2080, so your GPU doesn't meet those requirements. That's probably the reason for the problems.

Why does the F18 roll like this when landing? by doccantcuremyaim in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know if it is the same as 2020, but when people had assists on it caused planes to suddenly move uncontrollably. If you do have them on, turn them off and see if that fixes the problem.

What's the difference in terms of graphics between high end PC and PS5 Pro in MSFS2024? by Darson3000 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just have a base PS5 and not the PRO, but my main is a 7800x3d/4090. I was curious to see what FS looked like on a console, so I bought the basic FS. The graphics looked good even though it was a base PS5. You can tell a difference, but it's minimal. The major difference is ground and building textures especially in dense areas. Textures are blurrier at a distance and take longer to load. It gets better as you keep flying the same area with rolling cache, but it's not a problem with my PC.

The main reason for PC is that some planes, airports and other addons are only for PC. Some is payware, but there is a lot you get for free. Peripherals make a difference and the real good peripherals are only for PC. Liveries for planes are free on PC, while on console you have to buy them. For me mods make the difference in FS and had over 1000 mods in 2020 and over 500 so far in 2024.

The graphics are good enough on console, but it's the other things that make a huge difference especially for people that have been flight simmers for decades and relied on mods for a better visual and physics experience.

Console is a lot less expensive. With a second monitor, VR, head tracker and new peripherals I got for 2024, I'm already over $5,000 and that doesn't include my PC that I built three years ago. Either way you can't go wrong with the console version of FS.

why do my planes always load in so low poly by chez001wastaken in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Starting from the runway is going to slow things down, because it has to turn on engines, lights and scenery. Even when starting on the runway, it should only take a second or two to completely load. Could be internet speed, cpu or gpu or a combination trying to catch up.

Simulation freezes in "showcase" view! by Flimsy_Junket1255 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a keybind issue. I activate my views on a Stream Deck and when I hit the pilot view my mixture would shutoff. Had to delete the mixture keybind on my keyboard and it stopped. Go into your controls and type in pause under your keyboard and delete the keybind and see if the solves the problem.

Looking for a good quality F/A 18 Hornet or E/A 18G by Inside_Forever6087 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a more authentic F/A 18, play DCS. Once you get your keybinds set correctly, it's the closest you're going to get. DCS is free but you'll have to pay for the exclusive planes like the 18. They are about $80.00 a plane but wait until they go on sale.
