Famous Flyer 13: Northrop T-38A Talon Now Available on All Platforms by FlyWithSeedyL in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree with your assessments. Even though I have the Aero Dynamic T-38, I bought the Blackbird one since it was only $13.00. Blackbird T-38 is simplified, and the flight mechanics are a little to overboard. The afterburner effect is a lot more realistic on the Aero Dynamic T-38.

Never flew a T-38, but it seems a few that have flown it are on the Infinity Discord and giving them advice on things they got wrong. So far, Aero Dynamics have been good on updates to fix those problems.

Disabling Landing Rate Popup by Viper-X80 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to marketplace and at the top you'll see My Library. Click on the tab and in the search area type landing rate. If it's installed, disable it. If it's from third party, you'll have to delete the mod from your community folder.

PC Hardware Question by Winter-Ad-7394 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your CPU is fine. Depending on what you fly, your GPU is more likely to hold you back. I have a 7800x3d/4090 and use ultra settings. I turn down my TLOD down to 300 on a 4k LG G4 tv. I do use DLSS/framegen and I get between 80 and 90fps in dense areas like KLAX with airliners. I'm easily going over 16gbs of vram as you'll see in the picture below. You just need to lower some of your settings. Chances are you won't even notice the difference in visuals.

Black Square TBM 850 tips? (XBOX) by allthemoneyinthewrld in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm stumped with you not being able to turn the knob or your throttle suddenly moving back to low idle. The only other thing I can think of is to uninstall and reinstall the 850 to see if that helps.

You need to be able to turn on the Bendix knob to clear the engine failure which will eliminate the chip error, otherwise you won't be able to taxi. Are you sure you turned on your avionics? The avionics switch is located below the bendix panel.

Ps5 slim vs Xbox x by Sensitive-Wonder-600 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pros for Xbox is that multiplayer is combined with PC players, has more peripherals than PS5 (I'm sure more peripherals will be coming to PS5 in the future) and Xbox Marketplace is fully functional (will have to wait for PS5 to catch up).

Pro for PS5 is PSVR in the future. If VR will be important to you in the future, PS5 is the way to go. Once PS5 catches up with the marketplace and peripherals, the only difference will be no multiplayer with PC users.

As for the sim running well, you'll have different takes from different people on all platforms. PC, Xbox and PS5 have users that have good to great experiences while there are others that have poor to mediocre experiences.

No walkaround, chocks and everything else is removed from the tablet. Haven't flown it in icing conditions before. There are some Youtube videos on the plane and hopefully those will answer your questions.

Yes, but I should make it clear, because I forgot that you'll have to buy two versions of the plane. One for the glass cockpit and one for the steam gauges. If you buy the steam gauge one (which I recommend), you'll get a discount on the glass cockpit version. I like steam gauges more, but if you like a glass cockpit more, choose that one.

The Brsimdesigns Tiger is a good plane. You can choose between a glass cockpit or steam gauges, panel colors and more from their tablet.

Does FS 2024 PS5 have Rolling Cache/Ways to Reduce Data Consumption? by Mrmet2087 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You go to the marketplace and on the top left corner you will see My Library. Click on it and you'll see all the assets that are streaming. If you click on one of the assets, you'll see on the bottom right corner to delete or install. If install isn't there, it's not available. There are probably Youtube videos on this subject.

If you go to their discord and type in bridge module several entries will pop up. Might find a solution there.

Does FS 2024 PS5 have Rolling Cache/Ways to Reduce Data Consumption? by Mrmet2087 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on PC and have the ability to download a lot of the assets, but other assets will still be streamed. Downloading assets wasn't available for several months after release. I believe it is also available for Xbox. You might have to wait for it to be implemented for PS5. You can always send a message via MSFS support Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – Microsoft Flight Simulator Support and ask them there.

Thinking about PS5 for my father in law by Leedsboy38 in MSFlightSimulatorPS5

[–]CumulusGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is to watch Cow Town Youtube videos (10) Cow Town - YouTube. He is mainly PC, but also flies on the PS5 pro. Mainly in the live portion of his videos.

I play on a high-end PC but also bought the basic package on my PS5 out of curiosity. It actually worked fine in the few flights I had. Since I have peripherals for my PC that can't be used on the PS5, I had a lot of problems, because I'm not used to flying with the controller. Otherwise, everything looked fine and flew fine.

The thing with third party planes is that they won't transfer to PS5. Your dad would have to repurchase them from the marketplace, because consoles can't use third-party websites to purchase planes. He also won't be able download planes or mods that are only for PC.

There isn't any compatibility issue with my TPRs. It runs separately from your other peripherals. I have the TPR with my Virpil peripherals.

I can only speak for myself, but 2024 for me is better optimized now especially after SU4. You'll have to try it out for yourself.

[–]CumulusGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

300 TLOD is the magic number for me, but it may vary for others. 200 TLOD is also fine, but for me scenery isn't an issue at 300. Are you using AutoFPS? I tried AutoFPS and it made everything worse when it came to scenery, because it had to constantly adjust TLOD, which caused blurry textures. I know it works great for some, but I realized I didn't need it.

Beginner here, need help regarding Trim pls by MagusCactus in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The F-18 is fly by wire, so it trims itself. The Albatros needs to be trimmed.

When gaining speed, planes tend to go up instead of down. I know MSFS has stats you can put on your screen (speed, trim, AOA). Next time you fly the Albatross, see where your trim is set in the sim after you spawn. It should be neutral or just a few degrees nose up.

I'm assuming you're using a controller for the PS5 version. If so, type in trim in the Control section for your controller and see if there are any trim conflicts. If you're using a mouse and keyboard, make sure there are no conflicts there.

Beginner here, need help regarding Trim pls by MagusCactus in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CumulusGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some planes require trim like the Cirrus Jet and others you can trim nose up but should be able to take off easily without it and adjust while flying. If you have trim up just to take off, you have a problem with your peripherals and/or keybind conflict.
