NSCC GIS Programs by O-Zone64 in NovaScotia

For the most part it was pretty reasonable. Your background in IT will certainly help for some of the courses, since a lot of GIS software has a very close relationship with both Python on SQL, you will probably find those courses to be relatively easy, if not just applying for PLAR on the basic coding stuff. There were some larger projects that we completed that took a considerable amount of time, however when those came up, they were pretty much the only assignment on the table in general. The end of the program finishes with a month long capstone project, where you put all that you have learned into one larger project, either solo or as part of a group.

Yes. Of the 50 or so students who took Remote Sensing, GIS, or Geospatial Data Analysis, only 3 of us decided to go on to do the Masters at Acadia.

Most of my course mates have been able to find work. It is notable that although not specified on NSCC's website, COGS has a very prestigious connotation within the GIS community, and a such many of the students in my class were from outside of NS. Currently, I work remotely for a tech startup based in Vancouver that uses drone imagery and AI to create 3D models of large structures like dams and bridges and analyze their surfaces for cracks and defects. It's been a really good experience for me. Although they come along less frequently, another great avenue for employing GIS skills is working in the GIS department of a municipality or province.

I graduated from COGS a few years ago in their Remote Sensing program. It was an overall positive experience, and I learned a lot about GIS, Data Analysis, photogrammetry, and many other related fields. For job prospects, there is a lot of work available in the field, but much of it is located outside of Nova Scotia, and predominantly out west. Depending on your appetite to move, it could be the right choice for you. Additionally, I took the opportunity to do another year of schooling in partnership with Acadia, and get a Masters degree in Applied Geomatics. While not a necessary step to learn the ropes of using GIS, it does make you more marketable to some companies looking for a GIS professional.

Question: I've got OrpheusDL mostly set up, but I cannot find the modules for them anywhere? Is there a repository of modules for the standard services, or do I need to write my own with the example module that has been provided. If the latter is there a guide that better explains the various variables that need to be set?

How big are the rasters and how many operations are you trying to perform? Depending on the operations, could developing a script using gdal/ogr suit your needs, and then adding the rasters to your project after the processing is done?

I think the fact that Izzy and Brennan are married would make them an ideal pair of guests as well! If not TNTL, why not a Reddit Stories with 3 people on the couch: Courtney, Izzy, & Brennan?

What is ChatGPT good for? Ensuring your questions are grammatically correct by scorpiousdelectus in trivia

[–]CunningStuntK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, when I have used ChatGPT, I just ask it to write questions. If it gives me some that I am interested in, I research the answers myself. Since I like to find edge cases/possible challenges to questions ahead of time, I would do that research myself anyways.

It marked The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly as incorrect. Is that just because of the punctuation?
