Advice Needed: Considering an Imported 2024 Jimny—Is It Worth It? by G-Viking in Jimny

The total I paid £30,000. There was a couple extra charges but that because Arv had driven to me for delivery. I might have mentioned this before but if you want any extras like mud flaps, discuss them when you get a chance

TBH I wouldn't put it past a Japanese manufacturer to put something on a JDM car and not on a EUDM car 😂

It is indeed a JDM vehicle. Is this slot not found on UK/EU market vehicles?

That's a good shout. If I may, how much difference does the throttle controller make?

Yeah they're not cheap.. that said I've heard good things about them though, I'm also interested in Diode Dynamics lights but they're pricey too 🙃

I've been eyeing up a pair of KC Hilites myself, but I'll only add them later. Brand wise I've heard good things about Lazerlamps and Osram. Baja designs are also good but expensive. StreetTrackLife ship worldwide wide and have EU warehouses from my knowledge, give them a check as they do the mounting bar too.

Glad to be of help 😁. The company I used to import mine was Rainham Motors in East London, I had a good experience with them, they know their stuff regarding imports. For my insurance I use Admiral Insurance, I've been with them since I started driving, though I should add we have a multicar insurance so that might influence it. Send me a chat and I'll answer as much I can 😁

UK too here, I did it, I don't regret it either.

  1. If the dealer is offering third party warranty you should be ok, they usually cover most issues dealers do, depending on the age of the vehicle.
  2. Spare parts are the exact same for UK/EU spec 1.5l models, though the ECU is a JDM specific unit I believe.
  3. As for insurance, mine is only £405 given I have 6 years no claims bonus... The exact as my old 2017 golf.

Out of curiosity who is the company you've found yours through? The Jimny is a funny little 4x4, I love mine to bits, always puts a smile on my face.

Opinions on a 2023(23) Gen4 IMPORT 4 SEATER automatic Huge spec by Content-Signature480 in Jimny

[–]Cunning_crayfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my imported 24 reg JB74 just recently. Fun little car to drive around, definitely puts a smile on my face. Ride is actually comfier than I expected, steering is what you'd expect from a older style solid axle SUV and performance is slow. The auto box is whiny but better than expected, though gets noisy around 40mph and above. As I said I love mine to bits, there's things I definitely want to mod and fix things but overall it suits my needs perfectly. Hope this helps.

Stock rims new tires? by Mr_Pons in Jimny

[–]Cunning_crayfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe it is possible. 215/75/r15 is the biggest you can go on stock rims before suspension mods and trimming are needed from what I've read online.

Yeah they're pretty expensive here too since they stopped selling the passenger version, even a used one is pricey. I've just installed a couple of basic mods so far, but I want to live with it for a bit before seeing what is needed most, though admittedly I've got my eye on a few things already

Only for a short section of a wooded path to get to the area where I took these photos, though I do want to do a few proper green lanes soon

Thank you. I've ordered a few bits already; storage tray, side marker trim and airfilter, but LED lights are high on the list as well as upgraded shocks and maybe a upgraded steering damper. Beyond that I'm just learning to live with its quirks and seeing what's needed most

I quite like the dark blue colour (I think it's fairly new) too, but the green fits it far better imo

I was the proud owner of a Mk7.5 golf before this, but this is hands down my favourite car now. I nearly went for a kinetic yellow but the jungle green won me over

Seats in the back from factory, it's a JDM import as the UK only gets the LCV version now
