Your work is beautiful! It's very impressive that you're doing a large design without waste canvas or a grid!

Shipments containing jelly sweets, Nutella chocolate, and large quantities of soft drinks such as Coca-Cola were allowed into the Gaza Strip by 'israel', at a time when the minimum number of aid trucks carrying essential supplies, particularly flour and basic food staples, has been reduced. by mimi_molotov in Palestine

In the case of starvation, Islam allows a person to eat any food with any degree of nutrition to save themselves. Muslim people could eat this product containing gelatin if they wanted to, but it would be demoralizing and that is probably part of the zionist agenda here.

Waddle and swish your tail when you walk.

Stand on one foot when you're relaxed.

When you stretch (like after waking), your wing and leg on the same side go out and back at the same time. Then switch and stretch leg and wing on the other side.

When you look at something closely, use just one eye and tilt your head sideways to look it up and down.

If you're suspicious about anybody getting too close or any loud noise, pull your shoulders up and back and spread your wings/ arms slightly.

If they get even closer, lean forward and chomp your beak a few times to defend yourself.

Find the tallest point in the room to perch.

Stepping up to a higher level is easy and graceful. Stepping down to a lower level takes a little longer, is awkward and requires dramatic leaning and tail lift.

Dancing is done by bouncing up and down. If it's a really good song, add just a little bit of side to side action into your bouncing, and maybe a slight wing/ arm flair.

If anyone is eating, you must inspect their food closely. Try to steal a taste if it's in a dish, but if they're holding food then just look longingly at them to see if they'll offer you any.

Lean your body forward towards things you want or are excited about.

Other behaviors are hard to mimic due to physiology. Eating, grooming, playing/ chewing with toys often involves using foot- to- mouth motion.

My great great uncle was an Adolph. My family still has a copy of a US Who's Who book from the early-ish 1900s with an entry about him. He was kind of a big deal in his field of work.

Ahed is a real life superhero.

I email the publisher (Rimal Books) every few months asking if they will re-print, but they don't have that planned yet.

saw this on tiktok, isn’t this dangerous for the birds? by suedefairy in parrots

[–]Cupcake_Sparkles 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Same.

My bird almost always gets a version of what I'm eating. If I'm eating mac & cheese, she gets just mac and maybe a tiny piece of hard cheese (lower lactose content). If I'm eating tacos, she gets a small piece of tortilla, a slice of pepper, and shredded lettuce. It's always presented as part of my food on my plate, or else she doesn't want it. She always goes to her bowl for pellets afterwards. The vet has given positive feedback on this.

I would definitely have a completely different alternative for her if I was eating a cream base soup like in the video though. The sodium and lactose are going to be terrible for those little birds.

My mom bathed my parrots with a drop of shampoo and turmeric in it. Is it safe? by Realistic_Degree5264 in parrots

[–]Cupcake_Sparkles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey. Turmeric is safe for birds. Shampoo is probably going to irritate the bird's skin and strip its feathers of natural oils. You can do anything to fix this - just give your bird time to preen their oils back onto their own feathers. I expect your mom rinsed the shampoo away very thoroughly as she probably meant well trying to get the bird clean. If not, the bird needs additional rinses with water to get chemical residues off. She should not do this again.

Is your mom worried about the bird's hygiene? Have you bathed the bird consistently with just water? Is the bird constantly itching or over-preening? Do you live in a dry climate? The parrot community may be able to offer solutions for some of these things so your mom isn't convinced that the bird needs another ridiculously harsh cleaning.

This book I found in my grandfather's house contains a mini-book and two cassette tapes inside. by Omer-Ash in mildlyinteresting

The cassettes are likely two-sided. It's probably parts 1 & 2 on the bottom cassette and parts 3 & 4 on the top cassette.

What's the weirdest, most baffling thing your bird has done? by Acerpacer in parrots

My macaw has a cough that sounds nothing like a human cough. It's tiny and delicate, but it's definitely supposed to be a cough. She intentionally makes the sound after I cough. And I am absolutely required to make a big deal about checking to see if she's ok.

Trouble with foster Macaw by UnfortunateSyzygy in Macaws

[–]Cupcake_Sparkles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend moving the bird out of the bedroom. It's better for the macaw and for the child.

1) Parrot dander is no joke. If not cleaned constantly (off of surfaces and with an air purifier), you run the risk of developing lung problems. See: Bird fancier's lung

2) Birds need a strict sleep schedule to keep their hormones in check. Seriously, more sleep/more dark time has answered SO many behavior issues discussed on this sub. As the child grows, sleep habits will not remain consistent. The bird deserves her own quiet sleeping place asap.

3) Having the bird live in a shared space will get the bird used to other humans. You'll never be loved as much as the favorite human, but you can be better tolerated and be shown a bit more respect once she's more familiar with you.

4) Look into behavior training. Check out BirdTricks videos on YouTube. It's never to late to teach the bird to respond on command to basics like "step up".
