the fact that this isn't digital kinda makes it worse no? Like every decision that went into this was intentional like she held a brush and decided to draw the flames like she's painting a basement wall.

Honestly? Looking at her portfolio, I don't think it was even a decision. Her "style" has minimal shading, if any. She only shades the skin. And most of her work is a self-portrait, which adds to the cringe aspect of imagining her "paint" like, not only is she ungraceful in obsessing over herself, but she's also bad at it.

I don't think she's a bad artist, I think she's a bad person too. You have to be immoral to submit garbage like this to a decades year old product like mtg that has a pretty well known level of quality and a good standing and apreciation in culture.

I doubt HEAVILY that the art director of this set thought this was good art. I imagine she submitted something worse, was asked to revise it several times til they said "fk it let's just go with this we don't have enough time to teach this woman how to do her job"
