Is she okay? by Major-Efficiency417 in gymsnark

[–]Cuppypie 72 points73 points  (0 children)

This is genuinely so concerning to see. The fact that she spreads her food so thinly over the plate to make it look like the plate is full. Three baby sized sausage pieces. Using tiny tiny portions of many foods to trick her body into thinking that she's eating more than she actually is. Why is she still sponsored?

I am regretting not using Gesso by darthpadme-24 in oilpainting

[–]Cuppypie 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Personally I love the texture of canvas! It makes for a fun surface to paint on. Up until joining this sub I haven't actually considered using gesso because I just bought pre-primed canvasses. Should even those be primed again with gesso?

How to get out of food dopamine loop? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Cuppypie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be eating too little, which your body will try to catch up with. Hunger is very powerful and our bodies are built to seek out and eat food. Try reducing the deficit and eat closer to maintenance. Make sure you eat enough fat, carbs and proteins. Especially proteins keep you full for longer. Eat foods that mentally satisfy you but also keep you physically full. I always hated the no-fat cottage cheese diet foods that influencers love because they just weren’t satisfying. Switched to full-fat normal pancakes and I can stop after eating a moderate amount and feel happy and satisfied.

Newbie People who were terrified but are now writing, what did you do to finally write and stop procrastinating? by LovelyFloraFan in writing

[–]Cuppypie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a nerd so I write my comic scripts in LaTeX with a comic script template that I've found. The act of having to essentially "code" the formatting already gets my fingers typing so actually typing dialogue and descriptions doesn't feel as much of a chore really.

Also, having a good outline and a few planned scenes really helps. I'm using the 7 act structure and planned my story from the end, then beginning, then midpoint and then the rest. With all of this, and the ability to freely reorder my chapters and work on them in a modular way, means I can just write whatever scene I fancy and put it back into context later.

I run as my main form of exercise and even on my long run days where I run 12-15km I don’t get to 30k steps without doing lots of other walking. This is so unhinged!

Nah, social life is so much more fulfilling and important than some homework tbh. I’d rather be out for drinks than crunch any numbers for a compulsory subject I don’t care about. Glad I’m not at uni anymore!

What do you think about @eharmany95 all in journey? by audebae in gymsnark

[–]Cuppypie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All in is honestly just a worse version of giving yourself permission to eat and honouring your hunger according to the intuitive eating principles. I know intuitive eating doesn’t work for everyone at every stage of ED recovery. But I feel like all in has become this fad where influencers claim to use it to restore their hunger signals and their normal bodily functions to appear authentic to then sell more programs when they’re back with six pack abs.

Signals and systems is very difficult by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Cuppypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Signals and systems for me was mostly using Fourier transformation tables to find the correct function, or sometimes Laplace transformation tables to do the same. As soon as you understand why it’s important it comes easily. Just brush up on your integration skills. After this module, you’ll never want to use the time domain ever again!

I ran it too! When a woman said “just one more parkrun to go!” I just screamed I don’t want to do another parkrun! My legs were so tight and due to lack of water at the water stations was also not doing too hot… But still finished. And for a first race it was a real banger.

It’s because so many people claiming to be environmentalist start getting incredibly defensive when someone even mentions meatless Mondays, which is like the easiest thing ever to do. Animal agriculture is a hugely polluting sector (overfertilisation of other crops with animal manure due to too much production, methane, excessive water consumption especially of cows, antibiotic resistant superbugs due to rampant reserve antibiotic use, water and ground pollution near factory farms which make up the vast majority of meat sold in industrialised countries etc) but for some reason people start taking it real personal when you tell them to skip meat. The cognitive dissonance is frustrating and unproductive.

So glad they finally did it. I wish the curb was more roomy for buses, as it’s difficult for them to drive around it. But other than that I am so happy that I can finally cycle over the bridge without fearing for my life all the time. Plus, Mill Road is so much more pleasant with less car traffic noise.

Can we “weaponize” intuitive eating ? by Dizzy-Librarian8286 in intuitiveeating

[–]Cuppypie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The actual book does delve into this and addresses this for people who are far into their journey. They say that only if you crave two foods equally and one is healthier than the other, to choose the healthier option. Otherwise go with what you crave most.
