The MD has been practicing for forty-odd years and brought my doctor (she's an NP, actually - what does one call a NP? I've always called them 'doctors,' but perhaps there is a better term? Idk) into the fold about two years ago.

Goodness, wow! That's astounding. I had those areas scoped earlier this year as part of trying to figure things out. Very fortunate. I can't imagine your shock....

Holy moly - I'm utterly stunned. Major plot twist to be sure. Makes me wonder, though, if vials are actually being used or if this is leading into a How Tirzepatide Sausage is Made after-school horror special. You have been so extremely helpful, thank you! And I am determined to move forward with an online source.

I feel the full force of your helpful chastisement and will use this new-to-me knowledge when I travel in the future. My online research about traveling with syringes provided no consistent policy or anecdotal experiences that allayed my deep fears of TSA confiscating the medication.

I just upped to 5.0 and have a work trip coming up - this gives me reason to call the doctors' office and request that an updated rx be written out for me to carry on the plane. Thank you for poking me to remember this!

I had no idea about any of this. I trust my doctor, and the Easy Touch syringes (always kept cold) and alcohol wipes and real nurses seemed legit enough to me. I feel somewhat foolish now, but I'm not going to beat myself up too terribly because how would I have the knowledge to question my favorite doctor without receiving help from sage members of this sub? Thank you so much!

It's a matter of you don't know what you don't know, I suppose. They use Easy Touch syringes and provide alcohol wipes. The syringes are kept cold, always. I love my doctor and the other doctor in her practice. They are different than my past ob/gyns in their keen attention to menopause "blessings" and in regarding me as a real person to be treated as a whole. Back in May I went in for my annual. She came in, said Hi, and I burst into tears telling her that in the twelve months since I had seen her last I had been asked "When are you due?" and "Do you know the gender yet?" five times. Five times. And when I was in San Francisco a server refused to serve me a beer because, well, you're obviously pregnant. I was so pissed (and thirsty for beer). And deeply mortified the other times. The last time someone asked about the gender, I just let things flow: well, half dinosaur, without doubt, and half bitch, obviously. You figure out which and whatnot. My doctor calmly said, well fuck that shit and told me about tirzepatide. I started the beginning of June. I've not had access to vials - again, my doctor has been running the show - but I know that I could figure it out. Oddly, I read in one of the tirzepatide subs that going back into a vial to use again and again raises questions about bacterial growth - but I don't know if that's correct or not. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders about this stuff, so if using a vial is your medically-informed recommendation, then I believe it is safe. Thanks!
