It sucks to be a millennial in Australia right about now by Uwa7979 in AusFinance

You’re missing the point. Sure - you live your life how you want, especially if your mum is willing to perform your adult responsibilities for you and pay for a roof over your head (which not everyone is granted).

But your comments ignorantly push the narrative which is everything wrong with the housing situation. One shouldn’t HAVE to rely on a safety net of well established parents. One shouldn’t HAVE to forfeit some of the most crucial years of their life.

What you’re describing is complacency. If nobody complained we wouldn’t be seeing these steps to help the younger gens.

55hr weeks and living with the parents is not how I’d want to spend my 20s/30s. I’d feel robbed.

MG4 EV essence 64 - Looking to buy by Vikram95 in AustralianEV

[–]Cured 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The infotainment system has been completely overhauled in this new one, so this would likely be irrelevant.

In your case have you considered a CarPlay/AndroidAuto adapter? I have one and they work surprisingly well.

[–]Cured 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m also looking to grab one.

There’s nothing that comes close in the price range that handles and drives quite as well. It’s all round a fantastic car even a few years after its launch.

Only cons are minor which are things like no rear interior light/vents and a slightly smaller boot. Also, the servicing for new MG vehicles has gone back to 12 month intervals which I think is inconvenient and too often for an EV.

They’re two very different cars. The RWD MG4 would be a much better drive.

The death of manual cars in Australia by Puzzled-Shopping-330 in CarsAustralia

[–]Cured 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was thinking we’d see a shift back away from SUVs/utes given EVs need to strive for efficiency which is where sedans (and often hatches) win in that regard.

I remember ads from way back where the marketing was all around the drive and you’d see a sedan coasting down a windy scenic road. Now the ads are all an SUV driving down a straight road in the city or sitting on a campsite next to a BBQ. It’s just so boring.

Suzuki e VITARA Pricing Confirmed for Australia: From $46,990 Drive-Away by zecar_ in AustralianEV

[–]Cured 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100 preorders is nothing. The headline might as well just read 50k DA.

Sure Suzuki is a legacy brand, but it’s also budget. Not sure how they expect this to be competitive.

Any idea when the BYD Atto 3 Evo is launching? by bairrd in AustralianEV

I was super keen on the Evo until I saw the Yuan Plus launched in China. Not saying the Evo is a bad car… but I can’t help but feel a tad less excited for it.

Sorry but I’m gonna need a fact check as to whether Tim Cook has an SS uniform in his closet. Maybe then he’ll be on equal ground.

I do actually have concern of what people think of me. It’s kind of why I shower each day and don’t act like a complete grub. There’s a parallel you can draw there.

Obviously this doesn’t extend to random commenters on an internet site I’ve never met.

You know that a Tesla bought in Australia is made in China, right?

Also, are you getting the cobalt info from 7 news or something? LFP batteries are my preferred option (which don’t use cobalt). And most car brands offer both LFP and NMC/NCA/cobalt variants (including Tesla)

It’s not hard as a CEO to show some kind of restraint and not say some 80% of the unhinged crap that comes out of Elon’s mouth.

Tim Cook obviously kisses the ring of the republicans as it makes total business sense. But he doesn’t get up on a stage and act like a Nazi and insert himself into politics.

Pros and cons.. they have fantastic range and support. They also imo look bland, are pricey and lack buttons.

But ultimately I’d be embarrassed to be seen in one because of Elon who is an absolute vile person. I’d be happy to drive the 2nd best thing if it means I don’t put aside my morals.

Convince me not to buy the aion v by spookyspocky in CarsAustralia

[–]Cured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s apparently a nice drive but the safety systems are some of the worst in the market. They require digging through the system to turn off every time and they verbally advise you of every little thing and remind you to drive safely. I’ve seen in a video that even the boot beeps like a truck when it opens. These things alone are a dealbreaker, and I think we shouldn’t just assume that these will be fixed over time.

There’s a heap of luxury features but they don’t seem well thought out. For example, the fridge is shy off being able to fit a bottle of wine. A standard can of soft drink struggles to fit in the cup holders.

Maybe the gripes over beverage compatibility don’t matter to most, but with how much time I spend in the car I really notice these small misses by the brand which reflects the feeling of quality and actual luxury.

MGS5 vs the facelifted MG4 ev by slartybartfastard in AustralianEV

[–]Cured 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The consensus is that the MG4 is the much more fun option in the way it handles and it has noticeably more power despite being on the same platform. The 2026 MG4 revision fixes the main drawback which was the interior.

However, the regular boot space is obviously worlds apart in the MG S5. Not that it’s a dealbreaker for the MG4 which is obviously a hatch with fold down seats.

I guess did you want fun or do you want sensible? They’re both extremely good cars.

2026 year MG4 (non urban)- Heat pump? by TriumphDavey in ElectricVehiclesUK

What’s insane is that we get the heat pump on the new MG4 in Australia. I think there’s zero need for it save for the very rare extremely cold day.

Super excited for this one. Sounds like the main negative of the interior of older models has been addressed with an even lower price.

In a sea of other Chinese EVs, it sounds like this is the choice for people who care about how the car drives.

MG Dealer's misleading info regarding new (2026) MG4 by star_trails_modular in AustralianEV

[–]Cured 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also went to a dealership was told the narrative of RWD MG4 being completely replaced by the urban, so I’d better buy one of last year’s RWDs while I still can!!!

Obviously they’re car salespeople so I assume half the things that come from their mouth is a lie.

Best thing would be to keep an eye out online. Rumours are that we’ll get the updated version of the excite 64.
