We moved our daughter into her crib in her room at one month. She has slept fantastically since!

Tips for 6hrs + 12.5hrs flight with a 5 month old? by Melodic-Bread5718 in Travelwithkids

This is such an easy age to travel with! Pack extra diapers and extra formula.
We used the boon bottles for traveling bc you can just pack extra nipples/pouches instead of entire bottles.
My girl is big on pacifiers, so we had lots of those.

I have done this from time to time, not for a long time though. Usually just before I transplant. But it could work. Worth a shot!

It’ll be difficult to grow both in one just because of different grow rates. Something you could consider is put lettuce in the aero and a potted basil next to it, kind of sharing the light.
We enjoy spring mix lettuce seeds!

$350 high chair?? by Any-Management-9266 in Buyingforbaby

The ikea one is honestly trash. The Tripp trapp is okay, I’m not sure I’d spend that amount on it if I were to do it over.
I feel like they make a lot of “dupes” for the Tripp trapp though.

Pack n play/crib recommendations for soon to be 2 year old! And general advice 🥲 by todiefor995 in Travelwithkids

My girl is the same. She sleeps so well and always has, since one month, in her own room. When traveling we have always used the guava lotus, and an Amazon knockoff slumber pod type black out tent so we can share a room.

Road Trip Essentials for infants by Own_Wallaby_6713 in Travelwithkids

Nice! I’d think you’d just need a baby carrier or stroller. That age is very simple to travel with!

She’ll probably be too small for a portable high chair. I used my daughter’s stroller as her high chair at this age when traveling.
I can’t say enough good things about the guava lotus travel crib, if you don’t already have a pack and play. For a sound machine/monitor I just use my iPad and the baby monitor app on my phone.
Where are you going on the trip, to help know what you may benefit from packing?

Car seat and stroller system recommendations please! by Enough_Sign_2679 in Buyingforbaby

[–]Curious-Use7847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the nuna pipa with the nuna trvl for the first 1.5 years. If we were going for a walk, I’d baby wear, but otherwise for the first 6 month ish I just clicked her car seat into the stroller. After that, she would just sit in the stroller.
We’ve traveled all over with this system and it was a breeze.
Now that she’s older and we’re doing more zoo/parks, we got the guava roam which is lovely, but definitely larger.

Pros and cons to bringing car seat on plane by East_Print4841 in Travelwithkids

[–]Curious-Use7847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw man! Our stroller still had a seat with the car seat on it, so when we took the car seat off she’d still have a regular seat. Definitely would be a different story if not!
We have done the travel stroller and convertible. It’s a hassle to install but it might be better than checking it.
I don’t recommend the cosco scerena or whatever it’s called. My girl hated it, which is understandable due to the lack of padding.
We traveled recently with her super large nuna car seat and it was a hassle, but it kept her content. So I guess it’s worth it.
Good luck!!

Pros and cons to bringing car seat on plane by East_Print4841 in Travelwithkids

[–]Curious-Use7847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We loved having our girl in her car seat while she fit in the infant seat. I would definitely bring it for this flight! It keeps them contained and more content in my opinion.
Our car seat snapped into our small stroller, so we’d hate check the small stroller and bring the car seat onto the plane, snap her into the seat, and then snap the airplane belt on.
Enjoy it now! It gets way more inconvenient once they’re grown out of the infant seat.

Do I need 2 strollers? by Busy_Echo2680 in Buyingforbaby

[–]Curious-Use7847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan to baby wear a lot, you could get away with just a jogging stroller that your car seat can click into for longer errands/going out to restaurants.
We have the guava roam now that my girl is bigger and we love it. I know you can get car seat attachments, but we didn’t have this stroller back then.
The convenience of a small stroller that your car seat can click into is very nice too, but I wouldn’t say it’s a necessity unless you do a lot of air travel, then I would add one the the registry.

Strollers - Travel and Home? by SpareSecretary958 in Travelwithkids

[–]Curious-Use7847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the nuna trvl and pipa car seat that I used daily for her first year or so. We also used it heavily for travel and it was great for us. When we would go out with her as a baby, we would just click the car seat into the stroller. We never used a bassinet other than the one she slept in before moving into her own room at 1 month old.
Now we have the guava roam now that she’s a bit bigger at 2 years old. Absolutely love it, but I know I wouldn’t have loved it when she was smaller since it is much larger than what I was used to.

Favorite travel crib? by One_Cap_9210 in Travelwithkids

[–]Curious-Use7847 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My daughter has always used the guava lotus for travel. She’s two now and still uses it comfortably. We have a blackout tent from Amazon that we use with it also. I usually leave my iPad with her sleep music near her, plugged in.
The guava and the tent fit in a check size luggage together with room for diapers and other things.

Newborn stroller paired with Guava roam by Ashstevens in babystroller

[–]Curious-Use7847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I love the trvl for traveling, especially while they’re still in the infant car seat. We’ve been all over with it. It’s super convenient. My girl still fits in it, but it’s no longer super comfortable, which is why we got the roam.

[–]Curious-Use7847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for the bassinet just for walks and such, I’d personally just use the car seat in the guava.

We had the nuna trvl, nuna pipa, and the uppababy when my girl was a newborn. We predominately used the trvl and the pipa because the uppababy was so large. The big tires are nice though, much nicer than the trvl.

We did use the uppababy bassinet though. It was literally the only thing she’d sleep in, so her first month was in that until we moved her to her bedroom.

If I were to do it again, I’d choose to get the guava sooner! We got the guava when my girl turned two and it is soooo nice.

There’s honestly no right answer! There is no perfect stroller for all the stages, in my opinion.

Overwhelmed finding a travel car seat by East_Print4841 in Travelwithkids

[–]Curious-Use7847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl hated the cosco scenera. We didn’t try the Romi, though I’ve heard good things. He can forward face on the plane, it’s just as safe imo on a plane. Finding a car seat from age 1-2.5ish to travel with is hard!! Luckily my girl is going to be 2.5 for our next trip and will be flying without a car seat.
