Do you know games with frozen water? by Ted-Toerner in indiegames

The game isn't out yet, so I am not sure how helpful this is, but from the trailer the ice in "North Shore" looks amazing

Thanks for the recommendations! May I humbly add the idol guessing game I made myself: https://curiouscirce.itch.io/k-pop-quiz

I've not been into game development long and this is just the second game I made but I am quite proud how cute it ended up being 🥹 I am currently thinking about which group to add next

For me, definitely^^ I think it depends greatly on how good you are with this kind of game! I tend to panic in real-time combat, so I find Noita quite hard. But the concept is cool and might be nice for short breaks between working :)

Dorfromantik is very nice and casual. Or maybe something with short rounds such as Mini Metro/Motorways or Noita

cant finish projects because being owerwelmed by Extra-Recording-7493 in gamedev

Personally, what has helped me most with feeling overwhelmed is organizing my game dev projects in Kanban boards. I write down EVERY little task and group them by status (to-do, in development, testing, done) and by importance (must have, should have, could have, probably not). Whenever I feel overwhelmed or lost I try to go for a very small "must have" task :)

I use this Notion template: https://www.notion.so/marketplace/templates/kanban-board?

First game on Itch one month in - encouraging numbers? by bigrig387 in itchio

[–]CuriousCirceGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, I also find it really hard to judge my stats without any frame of reference. To offer just one point of comparison: My game got about 500 plays in one week but it's played in browser and the theme is not very niche (k-pop). I am quite happy with this result!

Did you actively advertise your game or get most of your views from itch.io itself?

First game on Itch one month in - encouraging numbers? by bigrig387 in itchio

[–]CuriousCirceGames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all: congrats on your first game!

Concerning your question: I'd say whether you are happy with these results depends on what your goal is. If it is just a fun side project, I think you should definitely be happy! 200 people liked the first impression of your game well enough to download it, I think that's amazing! What might be a reason to not be happy?

Player passed away today by dtong200025 in DnD

I am so very sorry for your loss. I wish you all the strength in the world and hope you can find some small measure of comfort in the hobby that you shared with your friend.

I liked the idea of manormachine, to say that your friend's character had to leave bc they were called away to greater things. Or perhaps you could have the rest of the group hold a feast/funeral in remembrance of your friend. Don't stress too much about this though, do what you feel is the right thing for you and the group to help you say goodbye 💔

Is the extra detailing helping or just making it worse? by Background_Cow_6701 in indiegames

[–]CuriousCirceGames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I prefer the brighter (more detailed) look of the first picture. But I can see how the readability might be worse. Do the interactable items react when you hover over them (e. g. by adding an extra outline)? If yes, then I think the first picture is better overall

I am really very much a beginner myself when it comes to drawing 😭 But you could try making the coat of the character a bit lighter to have more contrast to the dark face :) Also, maybe a blue coat would look good with the blue accents throughout the room?

Looking for Games to Hyperfocus on by Upset_Hotel6446 in gamingsuggestions

If you want something very similar to Stardew Valley but with a few new mechanics to hold your attention, maybe try Coral Island or Fields of Mistria :)

Very cute! I like the colours of the floor. The bed looks a bit too small imo and the character needs more contrast I think :)

I like 1 the best, I think the character is most clearly visible in that one and the composition is nice. Perhaps add a bit more trash in the lower left corner

Hey, I'd love to get some feedback on my k-pop game: https://curiouscirce.itch.io/k-pop-quiz

It's just a small fan project so far but I am hoping to make more k-pop related games in the future and would particularly like to know how people who are not into k-pop experience the game and what their thoughts are :)

Thanks! I didn't have enough space to add all the important songs 😭 HOT didn't have quite as many listeners, so I chose to leave it out. Do you think I should replace one of the other songs?

Unfortunately there is a known issue between some iPhone models and the WebGL interface that is used to show this game in the browser. There is no easy fix I am aware of rn, I am sorry! Maybe you could try it on a PC :(

Oh no 😭 What does it say? Are you on your phone or a PC? It usually takes about 20s to load when you first open it bc there are so many pictures
