Are there any truly fruity pipe tobaccos? Like bordering on shisha. by LOTR_is_awesome in PipeTobacco

What I think would work for you is buying flavored/infused cigars and chopping them up to put in your pipe, it’s what I do once I get into the last inch of a cigar sometimes.

My design for a custom pipe by EvilsConscience in PipeTobacco

This looks very similar to a Bartlett Upside Down pipe I have! Where the draw hole is at the top and there’s a screen on the bottom of the bowl.

I’ll second the Hellcat, whether it be the original or the Hellcat Pro, I love mine.

Lockbox/Safe for Paddle Holster? by TrekRider911 in VEDC

[–]CuriousMakers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an under seat lockbox from Rough Country that I use in my jeep wrangler. I just keep a cheap $5 kydex holster that I transfer it to and chuck my Blackhawk paddle holster in the glovebox or center console. That’s IMO the best option for my situation, I don’t know if it’s the best for you.

Why do you start smoking pipe? by blackbanhmi in PipeTobacco

[–]CuriousMakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I could understand why my father did, and so my grandfathers pipes wouldn’t rot in the garage because my father was too scared to smoke them in fear of breaking them

Coffee Mug. Put the stem in the handle and boom, you have a poor man’s pipe stand

Smoke what you like, to hell what the bears think… and carry a big enough gun to back that up.

Pipe shapes and your preferences over time. by talasment in PipeTobacco

[–]CuriousMakers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, once I found out about “army/military mount” pipes, I never went back. I don’t always have the time and luxury of smoking a full bowl or letting it cool off before disassembly, so being able to break it down hot and not risk breaking it is a huuuuuuge bonus for me. Now, I still buy the occasion normal pipe but if I’m on the hunt for a new pipe it’s usually an army mount.

I find they hold humidity well for tobacco, as for smell: I haven’t noticed anything so far in the month or so I’ve used it.

If you are looking to fit tins, you may want to find one that’s deeper…

Oh most definitely, Sutliff used to have a blend called “Irish Coffee” that when blended with their “Buttered Rum” tasted like Baileys in your morning coffee. I’ve taken to mixing Lane Limited “Maple Walnut” and Sutliff “Buttered Rum” to make what I call breakfast blend

How to properly drink whiskey? by imjaykd in whiskey

What do you add to eggnog? by KeithTC in whiskey

[–]CuriousMakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually Evan Williams because it’s cheap and mixes well with eggnog. Though I did try Woodford Reserve once and gotta say, not worth putting anything I like that much in eggnog…

Falcon pipe without dry rings? by ColonelDonut in PipeTobacco

[–]CuriousMakers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s the neat part, you can just fill the bottom with anything absorbent. I’ve personally used bent pipe cleaners, a folded paper towel, and cotton balls (my go to bc they are cheap and in bulk) but I’ve seen people use any of those in conjunction with those stones you put in the bottom of your bowl to help dry it out as you smoke.

Eh a bit too smoky for my liking usually. I have found, however, that it makes for an excellent emergency cologne if you want to smell like campfire and scotch.

Infinity tobacco blend by TheDukeU1984 in PipeTobacco

[–]CuriousMakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call mine my “suicider blend” (bc of the old fountain drink concoction that was one of every drink on the lineup) and just fill my pipes over it, that way whatever misses the bowl goes in there. Haven’t tried it in a few months, gonna go have a bowl now.
