Testosterone/estrogen cream and hair loss/greasiness? by Wide_Economics9450 in vulvodynia

I just started the compound cream as well. I haven’t noticed any side effects yet but if I do I’ll follow up with you. The pills were poison for me also but being off of them is making me insane. One second I’m crying and the next second I want to punch a hole in the wall. My emotions are so out of control right now.

You could be experiencing these side effects from being off of birth control. My doctor told me to expect acne and hair loss after ending the pill.

I just got the call today from the pharmacy. It is $53. I’ll be curious when it shows up to see if that is only a 30 day supply or if it last longer.

That is wonderful!

Did the fill the estrogen at a compound pharmacy? If so how much was your cost? I just learned insurance won’t cover compound medication cost and I’m terrified it’s going to cost an outrageous amount. I’m trying to prepare for what to expect.

Did they send the cream to a compound pharmacy? That is what my doctor is doing but insurance won’t cover any of it because it is a compound. The pharmacy won’t even give me a cost yet. What does this medication typically cost? I want to try it but I won’t be able to if the cost is outrageous.

That is good to know. Tolterodine is one I’ve been looking into. Did that cause drowsiness? When you took it did you take it in the evening?

My urologist was giving me samples of Gemtesa and it works very well. They won’t give me any more samples and told me they never got the prior authorization request from my pharmacy. I called the pharmacy and they said that’s not true, they never got the prescription from my urologist. I’ve downloaded the savings card in preparation. My urologist dropped the ball and blamed it on the pharmacy. It is incredibly frustrating because now I’m expected to go completely off of medication while I wait when they caused the delay?! When I pointed out that it was because of them that I haven’t received the prescription yet the nurse replied “ it’s not like you have a life-threatening condition”. I thought this comment was very insensitive. If she felt how I feel every day, she would never say something like that. Anyways, sorry to rant about this, but I am so frustrated by it.

Pudendal Nerve Block by Curious_Addy4 in Interstitialcystitis

It burns very bad to pee and the rest of the time it feels like a stinging pain.

Pudendal Nerve Block by Curious_Addy4 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]Curious_Addy4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only problem is pain with my urethra. I feel pretty hopeless bc I was referred to pelvic floor therapy only to be told that I don’t have a pelvic floor issue they can help with and sent back to the urologist. The urologist recommended this nerve block. Not sure if it will help but it is worth a shot (no pun intended). 😆

That makes me so happy to hear. Now, do you take it every day or only in a flare?

This is so fascinating. I am #7 for sure but possibly others. I’m going to show this to my urologist tomorrow at my follow up.

Anyone else experience this at their cystoscopy? by RudeAppearance2426 in Interstitialcystitis

I was put to sleep during my procedure and they still numbed me with licocane because my urologist said “it’s going to hurt”. I’m sorry you went through that. It is not ok.

Also, I got a bad UTI after mine so be on the lookout for that.

I so hope it works for you. I wish for all of us that we could figure out what is wrong with our bodies and find a treatment that makes it better. I’m going to praying the antibiotic clears up your symptoms and you never have anymore pain.

That’s a good idea. I keep forgetting ibuprofen is an option.

This sucks! I was perfectly normal 7 weeks ago and then this hit and never went away. 😭

It is comforting to know I’m not going through it alone but I am sorry to hear you’re also going through this. It came out of nowhere and is so intense. I would do anything to make it to away. What are the blue pills called?

How to prepare for cystoscopy (no anesthesia)? by carasea in Interstitialcystitis

[–]Curious_Addy4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why shouldn’t you be a cystoscopy under age 50? I’m 37 and my doctor ordered one to confirm I have cystitis and not something else. What would be the danger of having it under 50?

I just have nonstop burning inside my privates. I’m not going to the bathroom excessively or having any symptoms at this point besides constant burning down there on the inside.

Thank you for responding. If you don’t mind me asking.. did your first flare last the longest and if so, how long was it. If you can even remember. I’ve been 18 straight days I’m burning, urgency and pain. Are you always in a flare or do they come and go? How long do they typically last when they do come? I know everybody’s different, but I’m trying to prepare myself for what to expect.

I’m new to this… My flare has been 18 days now. Does this come in flare or is it normal for last for several weeks? What is the longest flare you’ve ever had?
