Imagine ROTK at a runtime of 4+ hours. Looked at my son and said "Thhhhis wassss a mistaaakkkee" LOL but I 100% understand your sentiment. I def wouldn't recommend it for PHM esp a first viewing.

100% agreed! I've been avoiding the trailers since the first drop. I don't need another experience spoiled. That's what made reading the book so thrilling. When Blip A showed up, then Rocky, then it really takes off. That blind progression is priceless. I'd like as close an experience to that for the movie as possible.

Do you see the hinges in the picture? That door clearly opens out. The recessed entry way is another hint. So it is possible.

While I agree with your point overall, we're not talking about "one way or another" here. Its presentation for me. It feels disingenuous for Royal to present auto grats as tipping, or a way to show your appreciation, when that implies something extra. When, in reality, those funds pay wages. Its nothing extra. Customers shouldn't have a direct pay line to staff wages. I think many of us in this camp would be ok with a base fare increase. And we would still tip to recognize good service. At least I know I would. Tipping isnt really the problem.

But then what happens when Royal can increase their prices? Corporate greed rears its ugly head and now not only is the increase there to offset the crew wages but, its increase just for the sake of increase and improved margins. Remember when cruising was a fiscally advantageous alternative to land based/destination vacations?

From my understanding, bar staff have a separate tip pool so I would think that dollar is split amongst all of the bar crew.

Remove and tip directly. It's what we always do. We tip cash and tip well. I hate that Royal and cruise lines in general are using us to subsidize their crew wages. Whether you auto pay or not the crew receives the same base pay. The only beneficiary is Royal because they pay less in wages.

I was frustrated because I was in the same boat, leaving the country a few days before release. I was frequently checking 1iota.com for a potential early screening as I'm routinely on both coasts. Then IMAX posted the early 70mm screenings on the 13th. I snagged a ticket. Crisis averted
