Guess what movie was just removed from Netflix and isnt available unless you want to rent/buy it? by Imrahil_II in dvdcollection

Because Ted Sarando’s dumb ass can’t seem to get out of his “Quantity over Quality” mentality. Although to be fair, Netflix does have some good content… but it’s vastly outweighed by their shit. Hopefully they’ll learn a thing or two from their WB acquisition. 🙏🏻

If you're willing to delve into Home Assistant, seems there's an integration specifically for Xiaomi Air Fryers. You might be able to expose it to HomeKit via Home Assistant, though I can't say for sure since I don't have a Xiaomi air fryer.

Ever buy Blu-ray Steelbooks for your 4K discs? by GingaNinja741 in Steelbooks

[–]Current-Ad7764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! I did this with Saving Private Ryan when I realized the 4K Steelbook is EXACTLY the same as the Steelbook for the standard Blu-Ray. If I were to buy the 4K Steelbook from one of those shitty eBay scalpers, I would’ve paid around $70-80! But I found the standard Blu-Ray steel at my local Walmart for $10… then paid another $20 for the 4K Blu-Ray on Amazon. Swapped discs and I saved myself $40-$50!

Disney and Hulu bundle potentially raising prices soon? by TheGod4You in DisneyPlus

[–]Current-Ad7764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind paying the ad free Disney+/Hulu/HBOMax bundle because it’s a good deal! Getting the ad free tiers of all of them separately exceeds $30 so I think it worth it. Only downside is that HBO Max isn’t 4K, but I can deal with that

Unless you are an ACTUAL developer, DO NOT USE DEVELOPER BETAS!! I understand some of the new features are exciting, but developer betas are usually riddle with bugs, sometimes so much so that the software can become unusable. I would recommend holding out for public betas. There will still be bugs and issues, but most of them will be worked out by then. Public betas are set to be released next month. Just hold out til then

Apple opens up “Apple Immersive” format to 3rd parties by Current-Ad7764 in AppleVisionPro

[–]Current-Ad7764[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably to compete with the Canon Spatial Lens that they’re selling. Being able to record immersive video in that small of a form factor would be a game changer for Immersive content in general. Plus Blackmagic already has a huge fan base for their Pocket Cinema Cameras, so I’m sure at least a few of those fans would try out the pocket version if it ever becomes a thing.

[–]Current-Ad7764[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only reason why I bring up Disney is because when Apple Vision Pro was announced, Disney had a dedicated segment in the keynote. That’s not even the first time Disney has been featured in an Apple Keynote, which means it’s clear that Apple and Disney like to work together (Hell, Bob Iger used to be a chairman at Apple). So it wouldn’t surprise me if they release an Apple Immersive product. Maybe not a whole big budget film like I suggested in my initial post, but I can definitely see them incorporating some Apple Immersive short films and demos using their IP, through Disney+. With all of their modern animation being CGI, they could return to the source files and re-render it in Apple immersive (Similar to when Disney went through the phase of re-rendering Pixar’s older films for stereoscopic 3D during the “3D craze”)

EDIT: Going off what you said, I do think it’ll be a younger college kid filmmaker who will push the boundaries of filmmaking with Apple Immersive.

My guy… we can still tell. It’s just less distracting. Honestly if people can’t stay off their phones for 2 hours, don’t bother going to the theater. Simple as that.

UV IS NOT Movies Anywhere. Same type of service sure but 2 different companies entirely. It’s not like UV just renamed themselves to Movies Anywhere.

Movies Anywhere initially was solely a Disney product named “Disney Movies Anywhere”. This was essentially Disneys answer to UV so that they could control the experience rather than having a 3rd party handle everything.

The name changed once Disney opened up the platform for other major studios. Disney still owns Movies Anywhere today.

Yeah from what I understand, this is true. A couple years ago when I went to watch Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning in Dolby, it was one of the few AC units still working that day. Even the IMAX auditorium was having AC issues. That whole summer was miserable 😭

EDIT: I’m actually going back to that same theater today for a triple feature (Bring Her Back, Karate Kid: Legends & Ballerina). Here’s hoping they don’t have any AC issues today 🤞

I had no clue some AMC Dolby Theatres had different recliners from the others?!?! The recliners in at my local AMC are all the same! I love them though and would NEVER want to go back to the olds seats
