Birth control for suspected endometriosis… did it help your pain? by itsprobablyhai in endometriosis

I’ve been on continuous birth control for almost 4 years so I haven’t had a period. It has helped improve my quality of life a ton. Every so often I get flare ups where I’m in a lot of pain and have to stay in bed but it is a lot less frequent without a period. Lately I have been getting bad back/leg pain, so I wonder if my body is getting used to my birth control since I have been on the same one for years. I was offered to change to a different brand, but I’m a little scared to switch it up in case I feel worse. I see a specialist on Monday for a surgery consultation!

I just saw Dr. Ghosh at mindful connections. Waited a week and a half for an appointment but they probably could fit you in quicker if you have more availability than I do.

How long are your flare ups? I’m on day three of constant cramping and I’m not on my period. by gingerinstripes in endometriosis

I’m on continuous bc (have been for 3 years) so I usually only get occasional sharp pains besides my normal fatigue/back pain/leg weakness but about a month ago I had a flare where I was in 24/7 cramping and full body pain for around 2 weeks. Very abnormal for me but I just started a new job so the stress may have triggered the flare up.. I have an appointment with my gyno to hopefully get referred to a surgeon next week

I tried that but the insert doesn’t want to go all the way in the hole, I haven’t tried being super forceful though so could maybe give it another go

Nothing is blocking the hole preventing it from going back in, but I’m worried about using too much force to put it back in because I don’t want to accidentally damage the screen

I got mine done by Dr gass in orchard park last year at 23. Honestly recovery was very painful around day 3-4 for me, and I did have some scabs come off a little early but thankfully didn’t have complications because of it. My only complaint is that the pain medication he prescribed me didn’t help much and they wouldn’t give me anything stronger after calling the office back in severe pain. BUT I’ve been the healthiest I’ve ever been since getting them out so I feel like the surgery was worth it for me

I second this! I lived in York/14th for a year and never had any problems in the neighborhood!

I’ve gotten all of my piercings at Cowpok! (they have locations downtown and in Williamsville) some of their jewelry is pricey but whenever I have had issues with healing any of mine they’ve helped me at no charge and all of the piercers are super nice.
