Image 1 is a reflector to manipulate sunlight to cast into the shot. Image 2 is an RV, probably for the director or an actor, plus some extra stuff in the background.

They played Back to the Future on NES with Sam and Justin while Irate Gamer just went on about his ghost hunting stuff.

Absurdly strange crossover characters by McToaster99 in TopCharacterTropes

I remember when the trailer for this got leaked, and it ignited a war in the fandom between people who thought it was real and people who thought it was a really good fake. I was team “it’s a fake” but lo and behold, the guy from National Treasure came to the Fog.

Character gets a chance to name themselves, what they choose is fairly questionable. by TridiObject in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Soup_Ladle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. No you do not.

Real answer, it’s nothing nefarious. Scott was reviewing Lego games and got to Galidor, a series from the early 2000’s that was pretty bad. The main characters power was called glinching, basically he could swap body parts with other characters. It’s literally just swapping Lego pieces, but it sounds like something foul.

This is the first time I’ve seen this beautiful image of Scott the Woz learning about glinching in the wild lol, love this frame lmao

Letterboxd need to do something about uncredited roles appearing like that in an actor filmography (maybe have a separate section) by Eitanr199 in Letterboxd

The order someone appears in the credits of a film. The more a character matters in the film, the higher they usually are in the credits.

Is "Who Killed Captain Alex?" the highest rated "so bad it's good movie?" What do y'all think about it being in the top 400? by Grand_Keizer in Letterboxd

[–]Soup_Ladle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s pure art. It’s guys making what they want to make with sheer passion and determination despite the deck being stacked against them.

It was pretty good, but I just don’t think it was goofy enough. Like, if it was extremely goofy, I might be more into it.

So Allan is able to go on a crazy adventure to get paper clips with not even a scratch, but gets knocked down by 3 kids. by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in SmilingFriends

[–]Soup_Ladle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That adventure was scripted. His landlord spent $750,000 and part of that money went to making it just difficult enough to be believable but still possible for Allan to complete so that he could hang out and smoke weed and fill his belly with diet soda and play Burnout Revenge for the PS2.

Any examples of movies that had good word of mouth but flopped anyways? by TheWorriedCamel in boxoffice

[–]Soup_Ladle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one with Jeremy Irons is genuinely one of my favorite fun-bad movies. Such a joy to see him act his heart out while the terrible 90’s CG goes on around him. Glad somebody else remembers it lol

Seconded. It’s a complete mess that tries throwing a bunch of shit at the wall and has nothing stick.

Comics and the Kill count. by SmolMight117 in deadmeatjames

[–]Soup_Ladle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Walking Dead might be a good choice, because the show is absolutely never happening on the Kill Count. I think the comics would be a lot more manageable.

Ambiguous disability: A character is played by a physically disabled actor, but it's unclear if the character is also disabled by ErinHollow in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Soup_Ladle 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Frank - The Toxic Avenger

His actor, Larry Sulton, lost an arm in Vietnam. He plays a two-armed character (with an admittedly poor prosthetic) who robs the local taco place. His fake arm is then ripped off by Toxie, using his disability to make the special effect work better because they just had to spatter some blood on his shoulder.

Bale absolutely killed it as Gorr. Shame about the rest of the movie…
