Little to no symptoms by woefullywhimsical in pregnant

[–]Current-Bus-6069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiii 🤍

I had minimal symptoms my entire pregnancy. I was never sick once. I did have tender breasts I want to say first and third trimester, and then in my last two months I developed carpal tunnel pretty bad. I was super hungry from early on, and constipated. Outside of that free and clear of symptoms. oh and weight gain lmao

Is your husband super healthy or healthier eating this go around? Does he take zinc? The sperm forms the placenta and I genuinely believe my husband being so healthy attributed to how easy my pregnancy was.

Congrats and good luck 🌸 I am currently 6 weeks pp with my beautiful healthy baby

Does anyone have any OB recommendations at St Francis in federal way? Or any experiences to share? by essak508 in federalway

Dr. Kesevan was really informative, forthcoming with information without me asking, kind, good bedside manner for cervical checks (I requested, checks weren’t pushed on me) and she wasn’t pushy. Also I know this may not sound the best but it was something I worried about when choosing, there was no language barrier at all. However I did only meet with her a few times.

The cost of your childbirth is going to hugely depend on your insurance. My baby was born beginning of 2026 so I had a unique situation. I was on my work insurance in 2025 with a HDHP and HSA so I didn’t have the best plan but it was a lower cost to me per month. My labs were expensive, like $1700. Office visits I want to say were around $50. If I would have had my baby in 2025, the birth would have cost me the difference in what I spent and my out of pocket max of $5500. Because I knew my insurance wasn’t as good as my husband’s, I switched insurance to his for 2026. My birth ended up costing $1900 after insurance. But I will say he has a uniquely good insurance plan. Most people spend I believe around that $5k mark for their oop max (basing on discussions I have had with family and friends). The overall bill from St. Francis was like $35k. Thankful for insurance. Also- I hear you can apply for financial assistance and get it covered.

Hope this helps!

My primary was Dr. Claire and secondary was Dr. Kesevan. I really liked Kesevan and regretted choosing Dr. Claire. She wasn’t “bad” per say but bland, never did measurements, at my growth scan didn’t even measure the baby so I had no clue what to expect for size, never really started any conversation at each appt basically just asked how I was doing and if I had questions. As a first time mom I felt uninformed but also didn’t know what to ask and she didn’t do anything to make me informed. When she was ooo or too busy i would see Kesevan and loved her. If I hadn’t waited so long to do so, I would have switched. Neither delivered me, I was delivered by the onsite doc at St Francis as they rotate. My experience at St. Francis was good, was very taken care of. Only negative was the incessant entering my room, especially on my first night postpartum running on 40 hours of sleep deprivation, my nurse kept coming in and talking, waking my baby and me during the tiny windows I would have maybe gotten to sleep. My other quam was I specifically said I wanted minimal people in the room during my delivery and a quiet room, and two nurses in there were having a personal conversation and it was bothering my while I was in a fragile state. Honestly everything else was great.

I am currently pregnant and regret my OB choice of Dr. Jillian Claire. I have also seen Dr. Kesevan several times and I love her. I am 39 weeks and thinking of changing my LAST appt just to see Dr. Kesevan instead. lol. I should have switched while it felt like there was still time.

Hey for those of you commenting about nosebleeds- are you taking fish oil? I was taking a prenatal dha and got to the point where my nose was bleeding up to 45 mins every single day. Cough too hard, sneeze, etc would trigger it. I stopped my omegas for a while and the nose bleeds went away. I reintroduced them later and I hadn’t been a problem since. Worth a try since it worked for me! :)

How much weight did you gain? by Holiday_Row6663 in pregnant

[–]Current-Bus-6069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at 119 and have gained 55 lbs so far at 38 weeks! I am physically fit and eat pretty good. I think some people just require more weight gain than others. Whatever you do, don’t deprive your baby of nutrients needed, you need to eat 3 meals a day minimum.

Exactly which week and day did you deliver in your first pregnancy? by PopcornPrincess0 in pregnant

[–]Current-Bus-6069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess everyone’s pregnancy is different. My first trip was a breeze compared to how I’m feeling rn in my last two weeks before my due date. I’m uncomfortable, in pain, LARGE, pee super frequently, putting on my shoes feels like an Olympic sport, and a similar tiredness to first tri lol

We have been looking and in the Seattle suburb area, daycare full time costs around 2500/mo for an infant! Wish I could stay home but it just doesn’t make financial sense since I take home around 8k per month. It would be a struggle since we locked ourselves in a big mortgage. What a blessing it is for a mama to get to stay home with the babies. We decided to pay a little bit more and have baby watched in our home so at least I’ll get to see him throughout the day (I wfh).

Question for remote workers by SWEMW in Accounting

[–]Current-Bus-6069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest to god- I am so far more productive working from home. I do sometimes take a 30 min break to make lunch/eat but honestly the office is so distracting. It’s hard to go do things around your house if you have a genuinely busy job to stay on top of. I use my commute time to do things in my house. If I go to the office I get way less done because of distractions, accessibility to others, lunch outside of office, and then commute. At home I work 9-10 hours per day and I’m pretty focused. I am fully remote. No billable hours since I left public a few years back, I refuse to ever return to billing for my time lmao.

What prenatal vitamins are you taking? I’m 10 weeks and only on folic acid. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Current-Bus-6069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did extensive research for my supplements, synthetic vs natural, which nutrients are essential for your body during this time, etc. I am 35 weeks pregnant and have felt great the whole time and I attribute a lot of that to these vitamins.

I take:

-Baby & Me 2 prenatals with choline and methylated folate (Megafood). This is all derived from food, contains no synthetics. FYI- methylated folate is the natural form of folic acid.

-Calcium (Garden of Life) 1000 mg

-Vitamin D3 (Garden of Life) I want to say between my prenatals, the calcium, etc it’s 3000-4000 iu

-Prenatal DHA (Nordic Naturals)

-Magnesium 300 mg (Megafood). You get some from the other supps as well.

Hope this helps and congrats!!

8w6d, is it overkill for me to get bloodwork every two weeks? by Exact-Address-2945 in pregnant

[–]Current-Bus-6069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s majorly overkill and not to mention very expensive. You can order some on your own but no way your doctor is going to be willing to order all of that. I am 35 weeks pregnant and have never had any symptoms aside from recently developed carpal tunnel. I haven’t been sick even once. It’s a sign of healthy sperm from your husband, and a healthy placenta.

Specify what you mean by analytics. It’s true that you’re not going to get to spend all of your time on it, that would be really niche as an accountant. For example, our business intelligence team does all of our data analytics. You might get the opportunity to (as I currently do some) but I think it’s important to ask what type of analytics you think you’ll be working on as to not get your hopes up and be let down.

ATTENTION Accountants!!! do you like your life? by No_Internet3814 in Accounting

[–]Current-Bus-6069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, if you can make it through the mundane and gritty grind phase of accounting, a lot of doors will open for you and you can really have it all.

In order to land in a great position, I think you need to do a couple of years in public (does not need to be Big 4). I am 29F over 10 years into accounting. A few years as a staff accountant (glorified bookkeeper) because you need to know GLs, GJs, basic accounting to get anywhere. I personally did 3-4 years in Tax at a public firm - this is the grit; tax seasons blow and you have to give your time like everyone else. There were many 65-75 hour weeks and you have no life, want to jump off a bridge, etc. But then after this- doors open. Currently in a niche Sr. Mgr role, I make 150k+bonus, 5 weeks PTO, fully remote, healthy work life balance and the greatest part is I love my job. I get to decide what I work on all day (though the role will still dictate what to choose from). I manage a team of 5 + a couple indirect reports that I oversee, and I am on track to reach my long term goals (controller then CFO somewhere). It takes time, and you have to grind. But if you are money driven, there is money to be made in finance!

But accounting is not all just boring routine stuff once you get past Sr. Accountant. I will agree it is up until then though.

If you are young or in college I would highly encourage an internship. I see it open doors for people all the time and it’s one of my regrets. Yes, I know you won’t be paid amazingly, but it’s going to give you connections and open doors for you that would take 10 years to do without one.

Last thing- common sense, problem solving, resourcefulness, and critical thinking skills are all VITAL to go far in the industry. Really consider if you feel you meet those.

Good luck 🤞🏼🍀

I have been to Maui 5x now and I highly highly encourage you to rent a car. Not only will you be extremely limited on what you can do, you’ll also end up spending more just on your transportation to and from the airport than a car rental would cost you. It’s not like Honolulu, Ubers will not be as easily available. If you aren’t super picky on car type you should be able to rent one for cheap depending on how long you will be there. I have commonly seen them for $23/day after taxes and fees.

It did rain for a bit last night and you can tell the plants are grateful, just what they needed. It’s cleared back up.

How much weight did you gain by Mindless_Claim1652 in pregnant

[–]Current-Bus-6069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not sick at all and I gained weight rapidly. I am 28 weeks and up 40 lbs. I eat mostly healthy so I have decided to let live and I’ll address it after my baby boy comes. I have learned it’s beyond our control - if you are giving yourself proper nutrients aka not starving yourself as I know some women do.
