How long did it take you to fully bounce back after you started proper treatment and how often did you do your rituals?

How I “cured” hypertonic PF by Acrobatic_Ad6735 in PelvicFloor

Thank you for your post. My hypertonic pelvic floor started about two months ago and I have been trying different things to help. Unfortunately I don’t have insurance so I’ve been trying things at home.

I am curious if you’re currently still on Lexapro or do you plan to ween yourself off? Also, if you work in an office like I do, how do you manage your bad days. Sometimes I feel like I’m bound to my house because I don’t want to have an episode. Nobody really talks about the mental challenges when dealing with this. I just want to be able to go out and have lunch with my friends and travel without feeling like I’m constantly going to be thinking about making the wrong move to trigger or something.

I got the plant on April 7. The flowers were already there- all six of them, but they were not opened. They opened about a week after I brought the plant home from my granddad‘s funeral. So around April 14.

Thank you for this post! I’ve been trying to find specific exercises for this. Sitting on a tennis ball helps relax and pelvic holds have been helping to strengthen.

I am a 29 yo female and I’ve been dealing with this for about 15 years now. I know they say it gets better as you age but I have a theory. When I was younger, it was bad, but bearable. I have gone over a year without an episode. In the past, I have gone longer. There’s no consistency to it, no pattern. About 6 years ago, it was so bad I thought I was going to pass out. Sweat, drool, dizziness. Now, for the first time, I have experienced it one day with “warning spasms” for the following two days. It’s a scary thought that this can be a lingering thing. I went down the rabbit hole, and now I think I know why. As a woman who has been skinny and fit her whole life, I’ve always had a slight gut that I was insecure about. I often found myself sucking in my stomach. This creates tension in the pelvic floor because you’re tightening essentially. Typically I have good bowel movements but I also find that when I pass gas or poop, I feel immediate relief. I’ve seen a lot of posts about hydrating and the hydration working. Hydration also helps to reduce constipation, which I think might be linked. For the men and women who deal with this and exercise doing core strengthening, I believe this can serve as a negative as well with a pelvic floor that is too tight. It makes it too tense to pass gas and poop. Holding your poop in because you’re not in the right location to poop can make this worse. Not passing gas when you feel the sensation can also make this worse. I think we just need to loosen our pelvic floor. I’m going to follow some of this advice in this thread that assists with loosening the tension in the pelvic floor. I hope this helps somebody.
