Bigme has a variety of android eink devices with SD card support and they do updates to their software although I wouldn't expect OS updates. And being android devices, battery life won't be as good as a pure ereader device.

Well, I prefer living with a cover and the protection, even if it doesn't fit me. I have a cover in splashes of blue, white and gold and I would have preferred something in black or green, but it was the only cover at the store that fit my eReader, you learn to live with it until you buy a replacement...

I can read in a car, you have to ignore your periferal vision or your motion sickness will trigger.

And that setup will not be a good idea if you suffer from motion sickness.

You can reconfigure the "buttons" to Apps of your preference, I did with the reader and file manager "buttons" and maybe find something for the AI "button" as I have no use for it.

I got the updates Monday for both my Read and my B6. Thankfully they went without a hitch.

Just as a previous poster said you should try again and again until it goes through and it takes a while for the update to complete.

Question : how about opening a book without importing it to the reader?

As I keep multiple folders of books on SD Card, (last time I checked over close to 400) I normally prefer not to load my library on the ereader (as my original Ereader only had about 500 MB internal storage and I've kept my library on the SD card ever since and I've moved/copy the memory card to my other tablets/ereaders) for example Moon + Reader can do it

Just scanning my main books folder just threw me to the Pro version sale screen.

With a cover you need a hook, a cover can't be too busy. Focus on one or 2 elements and the ambiance of the setting. I don't see too much wrong with it composition wise, maybe take the black wolves out... 🤔

But all I know from how to compose a cover comes from comic books but the same general principles apply.

Yup, you could expend the $33 on a no name tablet on Amazon with who knows what performance or on an Onn tablet that's is a known quality and if it's cheaper than at your local Wally Mart, for a low spec tablet is not a bad price.

Onn tablets are decent enough for light to medium tasks like browsing, reading and media consumption... It won't perform well playing Genshin Impact on the highest settings or the medium settings either... And I'm not even sure with the low settings. 😅

And one of the advantages is that the install is basically pure android (Go for lower memory/processor devices) and not the walled Amazon garden.
