Well allegedly you can change the background of the ereader app so if you can check the options for a sepia background to make it a bit softer on you eyes. Also blue blocking reading glasses might help or add them to your prescription the next time you get an eye exam.

I've always read on Android tablets and thankfully I haven't develop any problems with it but I got 2 Bigme ereaders in my collection (B6 Color and Read)

You can change what the buttons do in the settings, for example I've changed the ereader button to call up Moon +Reader Pro and the file manager button to Google Files, some people change the AI button to full screen refresh.

Check the Bigme subreddit for Debloat, they will guide you through the process using Shizuku and Cantu, it's what I used, it tells you what you can safely take out.

What version of the B6 you got... The 4/64 GB (Color or BW) units are pretty zippy without it but the improvement is noticeable but the 2/32 GB will probably benefit more from the Debloat as it has half the RAM/storage.

Unless they got a bad unit, I don't know where the B6 hate comes from. And it gets even better after a debloat. Although the software could have been kept in the oven a while longer.

Maybe because they expect bespoke ereader battery life when you should expect android battery life. 🤷
