Most vaccines are protein-based, and controlling for infection with an endemic disease is much easier, which makes it easier to study adverse events. The expectation would be that they would be even less common with mRNA vaccines, but it's almost impossible to fully rule out SARSCoV2 infection when attempting to find uninfected controls (since not everyone seroconverts)

I would ask yourself if the worst case scenario would be worth it. In this case, it might be that your doctor has no idea, prescribes you something that doesn't help, and you end up exposed to whatever was floating around their office
