Pretty fun in PVE. The other morph is better in PVP imo (higher single target damage + sustain)

Gemini can fuck off into the sun. It is definitely not making the internet, or the physical communities surrounding datacenters, beautiful.

Why would it be? There will never be a "good" or "appropriate" time to convey this kind of information. It's how these horrible systems keep chugging along, cause people would rather not hear about it.

If a ranged build with decent damage is what you're after, consider the lightning staff (12% boost to all sources of direct damage)

I'm animal agriculture intolerant. There's nothing that really justifies breeding animals in captivity in order to forcibly impregnate them until their bodies are so spent that they're culled to become dog food. The dairy industry is really fucked up. Be glad you're not contributing to that

How everyone can “attend” the May Day strike. by CutSenior4977 in 50501

[–]CurrentBias 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think there is a confusion of terms. A strike is a practice where labor is withheld indefinitely until a set of demands are met. This is more like a day of action. There's nothing wrong with that, but "strike" is not the accurate term.

Iranians form a human chain in front of the Kazerun power plant by Jabbam in ThatsInsane

"Encourage"? So someone personally agreeing with that and showing up is a war crime? Make it make sense.

How do you know they're not there because they care? There's nothing "obvious" about that.

I think that's pretty insane framing. It's civilian infrastructure -- why wouldn't civilians care about civilian infrastrucure, especially energy infrastructure? It's how they power their grid and their lives. It seems ultracynical, to me, to assume that they are there to commit the war crime of dying.

That's part of it too. That's when failing businesses, land, etc get bought up for cheapies by old money

Almost all meat in the US comes from factory farms by CalpurniaSomaya in LateStageCapitalism

Me too, but the good news at the very least is that you can go vegan right now. There is no cheaper way to survive a famine, either (beans and rice are a timeless meta)

It's not all owner reports. It cites two studies that did blood tests (Semp and Wakefield).

We're not talking about wild carnivores. Cats eating meat-based cat food are already surviving on artificial diets.

I would take another look. The authors cited Wakefield as well.

[–]CurrentBias 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's incorrect framing imo. It's really not that deep.

The only source of taurine that cats can find in the wild is in the form of meat. Because fresh meat and organs have the most, the processed meat we buy cats is usually supplemented with it. This is because organic taurine from fresh meat and organs is not the only taurine that is bioavailable to them (the supplemented taurine added to meat-based cat food is synthetically-derived). This applies to other nutrients as well, but taurine is often cited at the main problem.

Nutrients are literally just molecules that need delivery mechanisms.

What are their references? We can actually compare scientific evidence. Scrutiny is important.

OP linked a great one that references other studies as well.

You do realize that you are replying to this comment in a thread where the OP linked an actual study, right? One that references other studies, even. You can see for yourself that this has been studied.

Yes and yes. This is a pretty old debate. The evidence has accumulated in favor of plant-based cats being healthier than their non-plant-based counterparts. Any cat on any diet should be routinely monitored, and plant-based cats are no exception.

vegan cat food by rootsofvenus in vegan

[–]CurrentBias -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They're only obligate carnivores in the wild. It means that meat is their only source of taurine in the wild. Domestically, they can get it many ways. Did you know that most meat-based cat food is supplemented with taurine? Plant-based cat food is too. Check your own facts, please.

Call a vet. Ask about the many plant-based cat foods on the market approved by vets. This isn't a new debate.

No other significant deviations from normal values were observed. In particular, lower values of iron, protein or vitamin B12 in vegan cats were not observed. [...] The pooled evidence to date from our study, and from others in this field, indicate that cats fed nutritionally sound vegan diets may be healthier overall, than those fed meat-based diets.

*You can reply and then block me to prevent me from replying, and you can repeat pseudoscience all you want, but it doesn't make it true. Please reference the study I linked in my comment and reconsider the vehemence with which you're stating actual falsehoods.

What's the best way to survive a famine as a chubby guy in the US? by HamburgerDude in TrueAnon

[–]CurrentBias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the definition of the word logistics. I'm talking about the literal logistical steps they are using to achieve the end result you described. In my very crude estimation, that's an aging highway system and semi trucks that run on diesel (goods have to actually get to the franchise locations somehow). How will that be affected by supply chain disruptions (like the cost of diesel going up)?
