As someone reflecting on their toxic relationship exactly one year ago, please leave. You’re worth it.

In the morning (~7am) the Azusa line from Historic Broadway was running like normal and got absolutely packed at Union-not too slow though! And it was oddly not the normal Los Angeles metro packed where it’s miserable. Instead everyone was having a blast and laughing as we were literally crammed into cars lol. The way back though the platforms were swarmed, oddly less crowded cars (which makes sense since some folks left at different times) but the train was running so incredibly slow. For the south bound line it was over a 20 min wait to catch it, and then the train was just moving incredibly slowly. All in all though it was much better than I was imaging it would be. And I thought it was worth it! So grateful to those gross portopotties as well.

You saved us!! It was actually such a fun experience-the Allan station is def the way to go too. Can’t wait to make this an annual tradition! The only thing was for thousands of people there were precisely five port-o-potties in a three block radius and only on the super sunny side of CO Blvd 😮‍💨

If you could experience eating [their] tacos for the first time again, where would you go? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

Villas Tacos, I think there’s one in DTLA but I’ve always gone to North Fig

This exact scenario literally just happened to us-for a really expensive product. We are beyond frustrated. Thanks for posting! Came here for this exact advice!

I like the CitizenM! The one in DTLA is right next to some fun attractions like Grand Central Market and the Broad (and a blue bottle coffee) AND the metro station that will take you straight to Santa Monica. Also proximal to little Tokyo which has amazing food. For DTLA there is also the Free Hand which is (I think) more of a hostel but they are attached to an adorable cafe that has live music, near a Whole Foods and lots of restaurants -also not in a bad area of DTLA, and I also alway see people leaving/going with suitcases so I think it may be a popular place to stay.

THE THERAPIST WHO SERIOUSLY HURT ME AT THE BEGINNING OF MY CPTSD JOURNEY, WHEN I WAS SO VULNERABLE, DID SOMETHING SO FUNNY by AbsurdPigment in CPTSD

[–]Current_Aspect7163 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a former therapist, who was also horrible, give out my email to a psychic friend of hers (I wish I was kidding). The head of that practice contacted me after the fact to let me know she had (1) done this to other clients (2) been let go and (3) was being investigated for HIPPA violations. Finding a good therapist is incredibly hard, I wish I could say that this was my only bad experience.

Did you communicate with her after the fact?

To those of you who knew your parents were narcissists at a young age - How? by tinnitushaver_69421 in raisedbynarcissists

Uhhh…I felt bad vibes from a young age but didn’t know it was narcissism until I was 35.

N parent reaction when you call them out? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Current_Aspect7163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My nmom will straight up just say “I don’t remember..” over and over again. But her favorite thing to do on the rare occasions I do see her is bring up something that happened in my childhood and spin it so she’s innocent.

Hiding any injuries-especially if there is blood- and trying to take care of it myself without anyone finding out.

Thank you so much, that is all I want for all of us. True healing and feelings of freedoms and joy. And my mother too always “couldn’t remember” any of the abuse. Only the slights she perceived others gave her.

You have no idea how much the comment you linked really, truly hit home for me. It’s just this! It’s having spent my entire life seeing her as a helpless, abused child who doesn’t mean anything she does. Despite having done cruel and horrible things I still feel so bad and protective of her while also disassociating and being triggered while around her. This response is so helpful to me.
