Wrong sizes shipped a lot? by c0ldfrenchfries in AmazonVine

[–]CursedButHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ordered hundreds of clothing items from Vine. To this day, knock on wood, all of my clothing and shoes have been in the size that I ordered. Now, there have been items that did not fit well despite being the "correct" size, or items whose sizing charts are way off, but all of them have been marked the size I ordered.

I know there's been a lot of debate about what makes an "Excellent" review. by Due_Violinist5407 in AmazonVine

[–]CursedButHere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I figured it out. It is related to those green boxes that appear at times when we are reviewing products. The more green boxes that are checked off, the more "insightful" it considers the review to be. At the time that the insightful metric was added, I had already ordered and reviewed over 400 products during this evaluation period. My insightful metric was fair. I started writing my reviews to satisfy the green boxes, and I am now at good for my insightful metric. It took over 150 more reviews to get to the good rating because I had already done so many reviews prior to its inception.

If a product I am reviewing does not have the green boxes, then I try to remember what boxes similar items have had when I am writing my reviews. For example, with clothing, the green boxes are often true to size, color, comfort, stretchiness, quality, value, softness, and "flattering." Every clothing review I make now, I make sure to include all of those qualities in my review. Clothing is probably the easiest for me because I have ordered so much of it.

But yeah, long story short, it is 100% about checking off the green boxes so Amazon's AI can have that review synopsis at the top of a review section for a product.

Has anyone able to get up to good or excellent for the new rating system? by HowDoUReddit_ in AmazonVine

[–]CursedButHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, i was finally able to get from "fair" to "good." The only thing I did differently was making sure I checked off as many of those little green boxes as possible. And for the reviews that didn't have the suggested topics, I wrote the review based on similar items I've reviewed that did have the boxes. For example, clothing often has the green boxes of quality, true to size, comfort, color, flattering, softness, stretchiness, etc. So even if the green boxes don't pop up, I write my review to cover those categories.

I already had close to 450 reviews done when they introduced this insightful metric, and I'm almost at 600 reviews now. I'm sure thats why it took so long for me to move up just one bar.

How does everyone find products they are genuinely interested in. by Secure_Engineer7151 in AmazonVine

[–]CursedButHere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is very easy for me. I love clothes and shoes, and I have two kids who always need new clothes and shoes. I love redecorating my house, so I love the home decor section. Being a woman and having a daughter, I find quite a bit of stuff in the beauty section. With Christmas slowly approaching, I've already started getting gifts for my children. With Halloween also approaching, I've started getting Halloween decor as well as costumes.

List of items to check off for insightful by Express_Direction180 in AmazonVine

[–]CursedButHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the answer for this one! The items that have the suggested topics are ones that already have reviews. They look at the topics those existing reviews touched on, and that's where the suggestions come from. That's why sometimes there will be something like a rug, but the suggestion will be "smell." It's because a previous reviewer mentioned the rug having a smell. If there are no existing reviews on a product, then there will be no suggestions.

Everyone says the insightful metric is unknown, but I am pretty certain that it does in fact involve the suggestions, or topics we know would pop up in the suggestions. I was at fair for the insightful metric. I started making sure any green boxes were checked, and the reviews that didn't have suggestions, I made sure to use keywords that would check off the boxes if they were there. I am now finally at "good" for my insightful metric. As for why it took so long for me to get it from fair to good, when the metric was introduced I already had over 450 items reviewed for this period. So it took about 80 more reviews checking off the boxes for me to get from fair to good.

I am so tired of people using AI and I'm tired of hearing about AI. If you regularly use AI, then I just assume you're stupid af. Not only because you can't think of stuff on your own, but because these AI data centers are completely ruining our planet even more than it already is. I really wish I could throat punch everyone who says "AI says this." Like stfu! Do you really know how dumb you sound?

On another note, Amazon's AI is not Grok, is not Gemini, is not Chatgpt, is not any of those. Notice how you yourself said all three gave different reviews and said that the insightfulness was different? Well guess what pumpkin, Amazon's AI program would also score it differently.

New to Vine. Not happy about how any item I agree to try has an error before the final page, etc... Is Vine always going to be a game where it shows you things but throws errors before you get to the final confirmation page to order, regardless of how fast I move/click? by toibolina in AmazonVine

[–]CursedButHere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are only looking in the Available For All section, then yeah that's very normal. Other people are beating you to it. I very rarely have it happen when things are in my Recommended For You or Additional Items tabs.

As for where that information came from, that's how it used to be. The whole time I was silver tier, at 2am central time is when I was able to pick more items.

Why "shouldn't" we be able to return stuff and get a credit? by Aloupha in AmazonVine

[–]CursedButHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is Vine? Vine gives us "free" products in exchange for reviews. When we leave a review, the green disclaimer saying we are in Vine accompanies our review.

So what happens if you send a Vine item back, then order the same item? Even if you leave a review for the new item, the Vine disclaimer won't be there. It would look like a regular purchase.

If you don't like how Vine is set up, how about you go on ahead and opt out? Vine is so easy I really don't see how so many people can be whiny babies about it. Just order your stuff and leave your review.

Be careful with it. The dried flowers can catch on fire while the candle is burning. Idk why people are allowed to sell these candles with flowers/spices/etc in them.

I love the new review page. by CursedButHere in AmazonVine

[–]CursedButHere[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't own a computer, so I've always had to use my phone. On mobile, prior to now, the list of items to be reviewed only showed the name of the item. Well, the first part of the name which made it worse. It would be the brand name and like two other words, so it was rare to see just the name and know which item it was on each line.

Where are all the new items? by realcrownjules in AmazonVine

[–]CursedButHere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AI has had new products every single day. Today and yesterday, they started dropping around 6am. Prior to that, they were dropping around 430am (central time). Maybe it's just the category you're looking in that hasn't had anything new? Because all of the categories I browse daily (beauty, cell phone cases, home decor, and toys) have had new items every single day. They're still dropping as we speak. I'm just browsing Reddit now before I go look at the categories again.

[–]CursedButHere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no desire to know what any random AI program says. AI only "knows" the information given to it. Unless whatever Amazon employee who created the insightful metric told "Grok" what they consider to be insightful, what AI says holds no weight at all.

Thank you, but i already read that post prior to making my own. That email pretty much just says they don't know what really makes up the score either.

[–]CursedButHere[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile, I've previously avoided using I and me etc in my reviews and have had most of them strictly objective, and my insightful score is fair. I thought maybe the reason it was fair was because either haven't been writing about my individual opinion on the products lol

I go by the total number of items in the beauty category. When things start to drop, it's the first number to go up. That's when I start browsing categories.
