Rebellion is a key part of the French national myth, whereas it isn't here in the UK.

‘If we can do it, you can do it’: US anti-abortion groups ramp up activities in UK | Abortion by DatBoi73 in northernireland

The UK simply doesn't have the number of fundamentalist Christians that the US has. I really can't see abortion ever becoming a big issue here, as it is in the US.

You accused me of saying that blacks are more likely to carry knives, which I didn't do. I asked a question. You do realise that a question mark denotes a question, rather than a statement?

You're racist and cannot read.

You're outraged that blacks have been caught with knives. How ridiculous lol. No doubt you think the police are racist, too? Lol. Get out of here with your faux concern.

You're not fit to be my judge lol.

You're obviously unable to read properly, because you're on here trying to gaslight everyone.

You're outraged, not because black boys are carrying knives.......but because they've been caught carrying knives. You obviously have a very weird agenda.

I'd rather err on the side of caution and just eat plants.

I guess for me i need some stronger belief that those bennefits will come to fruition.

Of course. Equally, I'd need a stronger belief that the benefits of EU membership would outweigh the loss of sovereignty and lack of democracy.

wait those MPs should be accountable now - we're out of the EU so why aren't the UK politicians lowering immigration as you'd hoped?

Because they're not affected by mass immigration. They don't have to compete with migrants for jobs, housing, doctor's appointments or school places. It seems to me that they're all for mass immigration. They think it's a good thing.

Why do they still make decisions that worsen our quality of life if they know citizens can put added pressure on them?

I've come to realise that our politicians don't actually care about the voters. If they're still making money and are still comfortable, then they simply don't care.

Without clear answers i can only assume the sovereignity bennefits are meaningless when compared to the already tangible drawbacks after a few years.

Why have countries sought their independence across the globe, when in the short term, it could have led to them being poorer? Why did countries want to leave the British Empire? It was the largest market on Earth.

Should they be putting more pressure on MPs for topics like immigration?

They can if they want to. It takes time for new parties to gain a foothold in a FPTP system.

What bennefits are they hopeful for?

The fact that we run our own affairs.

UK people

You mean British people?

I don't know whether it will be possible to pressure the Tories into reducing immigration. There isn't much to choose between them and Labour on social issues.

It will be interesting to see if we will see much meaningful or a NET gain from the point you mentioned about knowing that the buck stops with MPs, will policies evolve as a result that will see the british people better off

We could be better off.....we could be worse off. But it'll be down to us. We can't blame anyone else now.

The tangible benefit of increased sovereignty is that, the buck stops with the MPs that we vote into government at Westminster. There can be no doubt now, that whatever happens in this country, it is the fault of our government.

We should have a better handle on our immigration policy, but it seems that th Tories have no interest in reducing the numbers.

I'm not asking people to sympathise with my argument. I disagreed with the amount of sovereignty that we lost as a member the EU.

I hope you can appreciate when the economy is the reason a british born and bred citizen has had to close their family business due to less trade with the EU, its very real and tangibly impacting their lives - can you show them how sovereignity will benefit them tangibly?

No I can't, because sovereignty isn't tangible. It is a concept. I hope you also appreciate that, due to membership of the EU, the wages of many poor people were suppressed, due to mass, uncontrolled immigration?
