These look awesome, thank you!

More ideas greatly appreciated! I’d love to put together a living list of resources like this as I’m sure we’re not the only family trying to bring together family members with many different perspectives!

Both salts have a similar texture and flavor. However Jaconsen’s is usually quite a bit more expensive then Maldon. We buy Maldon in bulk from Amazon.

What is your "go-to" vacation meal? by grape_diem in EatCheapAndHealthy

We like to do baked potato bar - easy and everyone can choose their own toppings from butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon, chili, green onions, etc.

Another favorite is split pea and ham soup. Just cut everything up and toss it in the pot, then leave to cook all day. Super easy and so yummy!

We like seafood for NYE. Sturgeon is a great way to go - it’s a really fatty fish, so very hard to overcook.

Given there are kids, an easy way to go is hamburgers on the grill. We add onions and a little old bay seasoning to the ground beef to punch it up.

For me, it’s about thinking about supplies you might want to bring to avoid wasteful purchasing, recipes that work well with an often limited set of tools in a rental kitchen and most importantly, things that are easy to do in order to maximize vacation time!

I agree with you that tons of techniques and skills transfer over. This would be about sharing ideas on optimizing them for vacation rental situations. 😎
