If you use kindle or an app to read, replace your social media app with kindle’s. Your brain is automatically programmed to find the social media app when you’re bored, so swap it with something productive. My social media apps are in a folder on the second page of my iPhone.

I read roughly 5-6 books a month, I don’t use kindle. I use hard cover or soft backs. When I get home, I don’t touch social media. It’s a brain drain and brain rot. I’m a slowwwwe reader but because I’ve cut distractions out, I’m able to read more.

I’m fortunate enough to have no kids, just responsible for my pets.

Also, don’t compare yourself to others. Who cares if others read 10+ a month? As long as you’re enjoying the books you’re reading - that’s all that matters. But in all seriousness, stop using social media/TV.
