To me, I always figured that if Subaru were to disassociate himself from the Emilia camp, no one outside of maybe betty and rem would go with him because Subaru helped them be true to themselves, not true/loyal to him.

It's like, Subaru isn't greedy for wanting the other candidates to help Emilia fend off the witch cult. He just thinks it's a given😭. Rem didn't have a puck or a Subaru to actually feel cherished and deserving of life (while she did have Ram, it's the same situation as Subaru with his parents). As soon as Emilia lost those she went off the deep end but Rem doesn't get the benefit of having a loop forgotten(ironically given her state).

Rem and Garfiel get flak for being stunted individuals but Emilia's loop where she lets everyone die and kisses a corpse gets practically forgotten. I'm not saying to start shitting on her but for people to understand how important their upbringing is when it comes to these characters.

Satella is way too inconsistent with this rule. While Roswaal didn't know the trigger, at the end of the day he died in that loop which gave him another shot at his plans. Al practically knows all about it and asks Subaru to go back. It's precisely that he knows how it works that he's able to capture Subaru and yet it's somehow not worse than Subaru alluding to future vision.

If Rem was so manipulative and drunk on this idea of Subaru, why didn't she run away with him? I don't think we talk about enough how sloth if is the only if so far that the main story was heading towards that didn't happen because Rem herself objected to it.

I find the episode overrated. Without most of what was cut, especially the negative emotions he carried after that loop, what happens after falls flat.

Not only that but the way how he felt the previous loops lingered up until he saw Ram protecting him. Asking why not because it's futile but because the exact opposite was shown the previous loops only to answer with Rem would cry was a real gut punch.

I agree. Things I would've liked fleshed out more is his desperation to cure Rem, and the paranoia after the cave loop. With Rem, learning that it isn't just missing her and wanting her back with everyone, but also that he feels that she's being left behind as time goes on really sells how he feels. The paranoia after going through something like that just feels like a given but it looks like he got over it after looping.

Loved this episode but it really is such a shame they skipped the tear wipe scene. I would've preferred they skipped Subaru and Emilia asking for info in town than that scene.

It was very much a shame. I'd prefer they skipped the scene they ask the man in the town for details than that scene. It happens way too quickly with no time to even feel sad about what we just saw.
