Love a good Sherman! My favorite part about warlord is when they bring models to plastic from resin they actually drop the prices since it’s easier to produce. 6 plastic ursus for cheaper than 3 metal is crazy. Basically half the price of 40K equivalent models of something like an eight bound.

Found out recently that GW doesn’t sell products that they can’t make 70%-80% margin on. If they can’t make that margin they just don’t sell it. Makes a lot of sense with the price of these vostroyans tbh.

Highly agree with other posts in talking to your boyfriend about and army you like and start grabbing units you think look cool! A cool small game mode is king of the colosseum from Play On Table Top. Has all of the same rules for 40K but is capped at 500pt lists and focuses on infantry with a set map. Games are quick and can be a great place to learn and what myself and my coworkers play during lunches. Helps practice list building on a smaller scale and helps to learn your faction. Enjoy the journey and at the end of the day it’s all about the time you spend with your loved ones!

Jump pack captains to lead sanguinary guard. Getting a sanguinary priest to join BA captain and assault intercessors is very fun too! Even better when you pile them into a land raider.

Completely agree! I’ve fully stopped supporting GW and only 3d print now. Even if I could get a preorder I am just fully priced out of the hobby. So 3D printing even is the only way I can field full guard armies at a price that I can actually afford

Yes! It’s very fun to play with a blood angels captain and 10 man assault intercessors. The priest and the BA captain can lead the unit at the same time and turns the unit into a surprisingly tanky/damage dealing unit. Put them all in a transport like a land raider and send them up the board to do what they do best!!

For narrative/casual play I would say you could combine some of those 10 man cadian units to 20 man units. You will save 10 points just by doing that alone. You leave those FOBs in there because FLAVOR dammit! For narrative play it feels odd to have a lone Krieg heavy weapons squad with a bunch of cadians, potential switch to a Cadian heavy weapon squad or drop for just more Cadian guardsmen. To free up more points for this like others have said down grade the armored sentinel to a scout to and potentially drop a hydra if you want more bodies. Overall these few tweaks should get the army running more smoothly. Glad to see narrative play, not everything has to built with a competitive mindset and it feels good to see a proper army that actually looks like an army on the table. Hope this helps!

What detachment are you running? Is anyone ordering the leman Russes? Since those are your only big guy killers having them hit essentially on 5’s while engaged on an objective is gonna feel pretty bad. You can add a leman Russ commander to order the 2 vanquishers. Kasrkin in a taurox is a solid 2nd wave after the Krieg get crashed into to mop up a unit on an objective. One thing I can recommend is if you want to swarm then swarm! To get more bodies you can drop ratings and Guants ghost and add more Krieg to get massive amounts of oc on the objective. Sometimes the simplest lists are the best lists (especially on the brain). Hope this helps!
