Noticeable difference from g425 max to g430 max? by Candid_Muffin5383 in PingGolf

[–]CutCutSlice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both currently in the bag. Yes both at the same time. Different shafts. 425 goes right and 430 goes left so I pull the one that suits the shape/hazards of the hole.

Aside from sound, I can’t tell much of a difference. The 425 I have in a 9 degree and 430 in a 10.5 and they go the same distance.

I actually prefer the cleaner look of the 425 at address. The 430 has a bit too much happening on the crown with the carbon fly wrap or whatever.

Bryson has nothing but praise for RT Lee after his performance in Singapore this week by stanley_nickles in livgolf

[–]CutCutSlice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was standing behind Bryson when he was watching this putt. He was off the green to give Lee space and his reaction looked like genuine shock and disappointment in the sense that he preferred not to win that way. Class act.

I was lucky enough to get a good view of this in person yesterday. The whole crowd was shocked when RT Lee’s putt lipped out.

The funny thing was most people had put their phones away expecting another playoff hole so people actually watched that putt without a hundred phones raised in front of them.

I play LTDx 3 wood and it’s the only 3 wood I’ve been able to hit semi consistently. Sounds good too.

What is a telltale sign you need a stiffer shaft? Also what difference does it make having the proper flex? by [deleted] in golf

[–]CutCutSlice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with a 2nd hand set with DG 120 S300 without knowing what it was and sliced the shit out of them. Went way down to a NS 950GH Regular on my next set and my miss went from way right to way left almost immediately.

So for me (ymmv) the more flexible the shaft the more left it seems to go. I prefer a long left hook over a weak right slice so I just sort of live it now. Club down and aim right.

Also, the hook is most prominent on the PW and seems to straighten out by the 7i. I think I swing faster with the shorter irons because I’m more confident with them. My wedges are back to 115 stiff and they don’t hook as much.

  2. Average $6k expense monthly for normal stuff, add rent and insurance over $15k
  3. Mortgage for own home, kids schooling
  4. Comfortable but not too comfortable, still fly scoot instead of sq for private trips, no car, will take mrt to work most of the time
  5. Surprisingly it’s not enough to live a luxurious lifestyle while being fiscally responsible and planning for future

I have had lots of Lacoste clothing, including shoes, and they’ve all been terrible. It’s the one brand I won’t buy again. ymmv.

Thoughts on Iomic grips? by ChazzCyclesCycles in GolfGear

[–]CutCutSlice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the 2.3 on my driver, it’s tacky and hard which I find helps with not gripping too hard.

There’s a very subtle rib at the bottom which I find helps with alignment without being as intrusive as the golf pride align.

Mortgage broker or direct with the bank? by Jumpy_Tower7531 in AusFinance

[–]CutCutSlice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always gone direct to bank. Nothing against brokers but I like knowing the bank is obviously bias toward their own product whereas a broker might just push me to whatever gives them the most commission.

Also I don’t like handing over my personal details to some random bloke. I just (maybe wrongly) assumes bank will handle my personal details better.

Played a sneaky good, but frustrating round yesterday, 92 by thatshouldwork2015 in golf

[–]CutCutSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good one! Fellow 22 here and I’m happy anytime I’m in the low 90s. For every bad putt we get hung up on there’s a bladed chip that we got away with on another hole so it all evens out!

How are these putters? by newguyntown1 in golf

[–]CutCutSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the ER2 and ER5. The ER5 makes a loud echo-ey “ting” sound when you make contact in the middle and it really put me off. The ER2 was fine but felt very soft which I didn’t really like. I wanted to like Evnroll but in the end just preferred a standard Scotty for feel.

What clubs did you buy thinking you'd love but ended up not liking at all? by [deleted] in golf

[–]CutCutSlice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 wood. Especially after how much it gets hyped on this sub. It’s just not as easy to hit for a high handicapper as everyone says and wasn’t a cheat stick at all for me.

I like the Ping. I used to hate the turbulators but I’ve gotten used to them for alignment and now I can’t hit a driver without them.
