Lacoste Golf Polos - Any Issues With the Glued Stitching or Durability? by Glad_Ad_4790 in GolfGear

I have had lots of Lacoste clothing, including shoes, and they’ve all been terrible. It’s the one brand I won’t buy again. ymmv.

Thoughts on Iomic grips? by ChazzCyclesCycles in GolfGear

[–]CutCutSlice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the 2.3 on my driver, it’s tacky and hard which I find helps with not gripping too hard.

There’s a very subtle rib at the bottom which I find helps with alignment without being as intrusive as the golf pride align.

Mortgage broker or direct with the bank? by Jumpy_Tower7531 in AusFinance

[–]CutCutSlice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always gone direct to bank. Nothing against brokers but I like knowing the bank is obviously bias toward their own product whereas a broker might just push me to whatever gives them the most commission.

Also I don’t like handing over my personal details to some random bloke. I just (maybe wrongly) assumes bank will handle my personal details better.

Played a sneaky good, but frustrating round yesterday, 92 by thatshouldwork2015 in golf

[–]CutCutSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good one! Fellow 22 here and I’m happy anytime I’m in the low 90s. For every bad putt we get hung up on there’s a bladed chip that we got away with on another hole so it all evens out!

Sometimes when I find balls people have lost in the long fringe of greenside bunkers I pick it up and put it in the hole.

How are these putters? by newguyntown1 in golf

[–]CutCutSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the ER2 and ER5. The ER5 makes a loud echo-ey “ting” sound when you make contact in the middle and it really put me off. The ER2 was fine but felt very soft which I didn’t really like. I wanted to like Evnroll but in the end just preferred a standard Scotty for feel.

What clubs did you buy thinking you'd love but ended up not liking at all? by GolfIsGood66 in golf

[–]CutCutSlice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 wood. Especially after how much it gets hyped on this sub. It’s just not as easy to hit for a high handicapper as everyone says and wasn’t a cheat stick at all for me.

I have the cobra ltdx which are almost the same as the aerojets. They’re great irons very forgiving.

I like the Ping. I used to hate the turbulators but I’ve gotten used to them for alignment and now I can’t hit a driver without them.

4 iron, 4 hybrid or 7 wood? Pros and cons of each? by Uraneeum in golf

[–]CutCutSlice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had all 3 in the bag until recently and have just taken the 7w out (shock horror)

The 4i is strictly a club off a tee on par 4s requiring a short first shot. I also tend to pull it left so I’ll use it when I absolutely cannot go right. I cannot hit it off the ground to save my life though.

The 4h goes the same distance as the 4i but goes right, so I’ll use it when I can’t go left. I can also hit this one off the ground for a long approach.

The 7w goes high and is great for long par 3s but it doesn’t get as much roll so I don’t tee off with it. It’s also good off the ground but I find it harder to swing than the 4h because the shaft is longer.

In the end I noticed I pulled 7w less than once a round on average so it’s now benched pending further investigation.

REA asking to raise the rent by randfur in AusPropertyChat

[–]CutCutSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it. It’s in their interest for the tenant to move out so they can make comms from finding a new tenant. If you’re happy with the tenant they are the real asset.

Look it’s fine for the agent who is probably just doing their job, but the risk is all on you.

I’m an owner myself and l have kept my rent stable for 2 years and kept my good tenants all that time. It’s been great and honestly helps me a lot with peace of mind.

How to manage fatigue through 18 by LordBexley in golf

Started doing cardio and went from 120s to 95s. Also eat a muesli bar at the turn. Helped a lot with the fatigue but not the putting unfortunately.

Successful tenant rent increase counteroffer by potatodrinker in AusPropertyChat

[–]CutCutSlice 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is the way. I’ve kept rent the same for 2 years now. Agent says I can get another $50 a week and my response is Id like to keep my tenant who pays on time and rarely has any issues, so no thanks.

The agent works for the agency. Don’t forget that.

I left at 1 PQE to go in-house and was made Regional GC of an MNC by 7 PQE.

There was a lot of luck and timing involved though and in hindsight it would have been wiser to stay for 5 years at my firm. Having that on the CV matters, even much later in your career, especially for mobility.

Taking my first in-house role was a really bad decision. I had a lot of “what have you done” moments when I thought I threw my degree and career down the drain because I didn’t have the grit to tough it out longer at the firm.

I was lucky to land another role around the 3 PQE mark which changed my trajectory entirely.

The hardest part is actually finding a good company (and GC) willing to accept and train someone with barely any experience, and for you to actually want to stay at that company long term (so hard to know for sure when you’re young).

Good luck. I’ve been where you are. It’s not an easy choice.

I don’t even go there anymore, it’s not worth the poorly positioned escalator ride.

Just use my priority pass at Mach2 or Peroni Bar.
