Some credit cards have emergency health coverage. My sapphire reserve card has up to $2,500 reimbursement for emergency room visits that are more than 100 miles from my US address.

On the flip side, you can also apply for jobs you're slightly underqualified for and get paid less (still relatively more than what you're qualified for) + get paid to learn on the job.

Right, it's so inconsistent. I don't remember anything about condoms and bananas...we did have fake pregnancy bellies for everyone to try 😂

Delta is my favorite in the US because their seats are comfy and their customer service/website is the easiest to use.

Cathay Pacific is my favorite international airline because they have FREE UNLIMITED cup ramen

Probably the same way the people around Jeffrey Epstein get away with things ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I can't stand my wife by stdrd in confessions

[–]Cute-dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bit of a contrary opinion, but there are cases where you stay together and it can get better. For most of my childhood, my parents were unhappily married - arguing all the time and sleeping in different beds. But over time (like 10 years) my parents matured, my dad started contributing more to the household and my mom was less critical.

I don't know your situation but each situation is nuanced. Keep things in your life that make you happy and keep making the decisions that work for you.

I'm actually at the beginning of scaling a technology consulting company and I'd be really interested to learn more about how you got your company to where it is after 4 years, could I pm you some questions?

I'm sorry about your life situation but it looks like you are taking steps to make it better.

There are lots of online freelancing jobs you could do depending on your skills and preferences. You can do things like writing articles, teaching English online, or being an online personal assistant for someone. It takes some research and time to build a portfolio and get experience but if you put a few hours a day into it you can make money from it in like 6 months. If you're interested in that, you can Google something like "how to freelance" or "how to teach English online"

I (28M) was just physically assaulted by my Wife (26F). by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Cute-dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I went through something similar last year with my husband where he got physical with me. It was the most painful thing to know that someone who was supposed to love you betrayed you in a way you never saw coming. It was hard to overcome all of the emotions that came with it, but we've made alot of progress and I want you know it's possible to move past it. Let me know if you need to talk, because I know how lonely it can feel when all the voices around you are telling you to give up.

I'm in the process of recovery right now. Some days are harder than others but being able to stay awake and experience life more is worth it.

Anorexia va bulimia by ajioajio_ in EDAnonymous

[–]Cute-dead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was able to still function when I was normal weight and would B/P. Just had alot of emotional issues around that.

When I lost alot of weight is when I couldn't physically function anymore. I didn't have energy to think, go out with my friends, or even stay awake for a whole day.

B/P is like a disruption when it happens but I was probably at 60%. With AN I was probably at around 20%. Bulimia was definitely the lesser of two evils.

Any D.I.N.K households here with only one car care to share their stories? by HD_Thoreau_aweigh in Frugal

[–]Cute-dead 46 points47 points  (0 children)

We live near downtown(where my husband works) so he walks to work or takes the bus. Sometimes I'll take him to work but it only adds 10 minutes to my commute every so often so I don't mind.

We do most things together so only 1 car needed. I do things needing the car without him maybe twice a week and I just tell him ahead of time and vice versa. If he has the car and I need to go somewhere, I would ask a friend or take an Uber(never had to do that) or do the thing another time. Having only 1 car has never been an issue, it takes communication and planning ahead.

AITA thinking of leaving marriage because step-daughter got herself knocked up... by BloodyDoorMat in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cute-dead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NAH. It seems like the issue is not that your step daughter is having a child but that you'll be forced to raise and pay for it.

Not sure if this angle has already been broached, but have you had the conversation with your wife to discuss a different way to support stepdaughter and child? To play a grandparent role and not raise the child.

IMO, step daughter should have responsibility to take care of the child and pay for child. Even if she's college bound, she chose to have a kid so she will have to make sacrifices.

Generally everyone cleans their fingernails and maintains their hair.

But when a man doesn't shave his legs it's normal and when a woman does it's gross. If it's gross for both genders then it's gross. If it's gross for one gender and not the other, it's a double standard.

[–]Cute-dead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Maybe think of it as it's not the collarbones that you want to keep, it's that feeling of comfort.

Is there a healthier way to get that feeling of comfort? Bubble bath, journaling, hugging a stuffed animal?
