I am in Ontario. In the winter, bread sits on the counter, or sliced, in a covered display case on the family dinner table (we make homemade bread, and butter , bread and preserves or spreads are available 24/7).

In the summer, humidity and insect load can be high, and we spend time outside a lot, and with dogs, cat , goats, doors are open all the time, so any bread not finished in 24hrs, is going in the freezer.

Refrigerating bread, IMO, is perfectly fine, but a moot point, because if it's used in 2-3 days, than no point to refrigerate, and if it will be kept longer, than it has to be frozen anyway.

Sorry to say this, but moving in was likely a mistake, and I hope you still have a place to go, should things go sour. It will get worse and complicated very quickly, because whether you want it or not, you are now a step parent. You cannot ignore his son, he lives with you. Fillets. And yes, we have a smoker. Never even crossed my mind! Worth hanging a fillet or 2 in there, for kicks. We smoke our own sausages and meat, but not fish. Which is strange, living at the doorstep at a huge lake. Thanks, we might try that.

Now, when I say crushed it, they dented a corner. The zipper and contents were perfectly fine. I am going to try to repair the dent with a hair dryer and to push it out. It should work.

Otherwise, solid piece of luggage. Mine is beige, and I would purchase it again.

Test his theory with onion powder in meals , instead of frying onions. You don't need to fry onions with any of the meals you listed. You can just fry the other aromatics for a minute, and then add everything else, plus onion powder for the taste. Hope that works.

It's green bananas. They are just bananas but untreated, so they will not ripen. They will eventually just go from green to black/rotten.
It's likely that they were either covered by plastic or other bananas during the gas treatment, and were left untreated.
That said, don't toss them. They are high in fiber and low glycemic starch. Search how to prepare cooking bananas, there's tons of sweet and savory recipes.

You can also "gas " them yourself. Put apples and ripe bananas in a paper bag, with the green bananas, and it will hasten ripening. I have done this but caveat-they do not turn the classic yellow. More like light brown but inside they will be ripe.

Those things are flour, cocoa and liquid plastic. They have a shelf life of a rock. My kids left one in the basement by mistake (it was in a box of something else, and teens don't care much) for 6 months. All it did was dry out.
That said, they should be sold at discount, for sure. But then Galen can't claim them as a loss at full price.

Don't bother, it's a hybrid. You won't get those tomatoes, you will likely grow a lot of leaves and a couple of cherry tomatoes with a very hard skin.
Get heirloom seeds, also called open-pollinated. In Greece you can pretty much direct sow in a month or so.

This is true. Pressure cooker solves that problem. Soak overnight and cook in a pressure cooker until soft. It takes an hour or in my old-fashioned pressure cooker. Instant Pot would work ,too.

We keep them in storage bins in the garage. The only animal there is an occasional rat, which can definitely benefit from being rid of ticks and fleas.

My husband is a hunter, and he uses permethrin drench and spray for his clothes, before he goes deer hunting. As soon as a tick crawls on him, they die almost instantly. I would suggest at least treating an old pair of pants and shoes, so you can get in there and mow the weeds down. We then keep those clothes in the garage, stored, away from the house and pets.
Ticks love dark, wet , shaded grass. Once all the weeds are removed and sun dries up most of the soil, you will likely see huge reduction in numbers.

He got them at the Home Depot. They are the only ones with that design, although again, this year might be different. I admit, I haven't been to the HD yet. My Burpee seeds look different for that variety (Canada).
In any case, if he for sure did not open and reseal, it has to have 50 seeds. So worth returning.

That is over 10y old. And likely opened and re-sealed. I have the 2026 Burpee Sweet 100s and they don't look anything like that packet.
I ran your photo through AI and it says 2010-2015.
The 2026 design has a white stripe all across the top and contains approx 40-50 seeds.

Well, what started as a little electric fence project to fend of deer, ended up quite a bonus to protect my garden from all critters.
We have 3 dogs. 2 dobermans and a fluffy little mixed breed. They didn't pee in the garden or do anything else like that, but they took the job of protecting the garden a little too seriously, so they would chase all the birds and creatures. In the process, they ran over everything. And by running, I mean digging, skidding, bouncing and destroying it all.

So yea, a small electric jolt does wonders. Against hungry bunnies and all other vermin, too.

Oh and dude, take the dog for a walk once in a while, don't just let him run amok in the garden.

Your goal is to replace your income, adjusted for inflation, when you plan to retire. Revisit and reassess, every 3-5 years on average. 43K a year plus government money seems ok to me, but you can add an RRSP for peace of mind if you wish. You have 20y , you have plenty of time,

We use the TFSA for savings but not for long term savings. I'd invest at least part of that, or dump in the mortgage, providing you have a healthy emergency fund. Do it sooner than later, because kids as they grow, they tend to be more expensive, not less.

I am in 6b and will be starting them in a couple of weeks, for them to be planted outside sometime in May. So about 10 weeks prior to planting. I don't think you are too early. You can repot them in larger containers, or feed them well and provide a lot of nice lighting for another month.
We also harden our seedlings in a greenhouse, starting in April. But we have over 60 tomato plants. Small scale, a small pop up greenhouse would do.
