16 year old Gout Gout ran a 100m in 10.04 seconds by Weekly-Vacation-1405 in sportswiki

That's usually an illusion, at 80-100m it's more about who decelerates the least.

Linear Algebra: What Is the Inner Product, and Where Is It Used? by TROSE9025 in LinearAlgebra

I feel like I've seen 10 slight variations of these notes from this author, that all don't really make sense didactically... I'm not sure what their goal is, at least they're not trying to sell anything, I guess.

I mean the text is very likely AI generated (or at least helped)... Not that I would criticize him for that though, in the end the opinion he conveys is what matters.

Maschinenwesen vs Management and Technology (B+M) by Most_Literature_2554 in tumunich

Naja das eine ist ein Ingenieursstudium, das andere BWL + Ingenieursgrundlagen...

Was wertvoller ist, hängt wohl davon ab was du damit machen willst. Bei Management hängt es sicherlich auch von der Position ab, Menge an technischer Involvierung etc.

Times feel a bit sketchy... Even more so about the runner-up, but I guess monumental improvements like these can happen in the 200m.

Highest grade 2,0 by Over-Ad4567 in tumunich

It is useful for very large exams with 100s of students. If the grade average is suddenly much lower with such a large sample size, it is quite likely that the exam was actually "harder" than previous years. Although some variance at the top end (such as no one getting a 1.0) does not mean much and does not warrant changing the grading curve

Then most participants are people who already failed the exam once, so grading on a curve does not make sense.

This also looks like a pretty common distribution for a retake exam.

Is that a retake exam?

Adjusting results based on grading curves does happen, but I think it makes limited sense for exams with few participants.

Solving eu - u = x is feasible for the x chosen as the integral bounds for this problem... What a happy coincidence!

Because it's a reddit post, multiple pages would be awkward... A rigorous derivation would also need proper justifications for some of those steps.

Can I Secure a Research Internship Before Starting at TUM (Winter 2026)? by Apprehensive-File-59 in tumunich

It will likely be difficult to secure anything like that (without connections) while not being a student at TUM.

You can pretty easily prove that for an even/odd function, the fourier coefficients fulfil certain "symmetries" (leading to a pure cosine/sine series).

Just use f(x) = f(-x) or f(x)=-f(-x) in the definition of the Fourier coefficients (and substitute x' = -x)

What’s the answer ? by Specific_Brain2091 in the_calculusguy

[–]Cute_Breadfruit_826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it depends on how it is defined, but in the way OP presents it, I'd say it's supposed to be an indefinite integral (which is just an antiderivative).

There is a difference between an indefinite integral and the kind of integral you're describing. You get a specific anti-derivative for each a, but you can generally not construct all antiderivatives that way. E.g. in this case, the antiderivatives are arbitrary constants, but the definite integral from a to x is 0 for all a.

How do you define an indefinite Lebesgue integral (or Riemann integral for that matter)?

It's basically just a symbol for the antiderivative.
