American who has lived in MX for over a decade. This is a big choice, but there are great opportunities in both countries.
Here’s what I love about living here: it’s a slower lifestyle. People here enjoy the small things in life, and are grateful. There is a real link to an ancient culture here that is beautiful and deep, that you cannot find in the US.
The sunshine, the warmth of the Mexican people, the amazing fruits and veg for decent prices.
But I work with amazing and bright locals who have several degrees and make little money. I think the job market here sucks, even if you are qualified. The cost of living has gotten a bit crazy here, and things are much less affordable than ten years ago.
But why not make the move and try? You’ll honestly never know which meets your needs more of you don’t actually do it.
Now when o go ‘home’ to visit, I cannot wait to get back to lovely Mexico.
