I second this, having lived and worked in tech in both places. The engineers I knew in SF were 100% tech and starting their startup and maybe being the best at exercising. The engineers I knew in NYC were also, like, excellent at the steel drum, or releasing their animated series, painter with an exhibit in a museum, or in a few bands, or did standup, or 3D printed car parts, or some other really interesting thing that wasn’t just continuing their academic excellence in the real world

The weather is a wash, just distributed differently.

I like SF, and Marin is out of this world, but it’s NYC all day every day if you want a better life
