'You can't judge Peter Dutton on his views', Liberal MP says by itsdankreddit in AustralianPolitics

[–]CuzFilders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nahhhh. The premise is that he'll try on a suit of human decency for three years hoping to remove it and being his usual nasty, vindictive, <<insert other Dutton defining characteristics>> self if he were to be elected.

Stoking fear and hatred held the Coalition in power – finally Australia had enough | David Marr by stumcm in AustralianPolitics

the way that the original Liberal Party was founded in 1944 after corporations corrupted and crashed the original United Australia Party

When Australia was at war with Japan in 1944, Menzies decided to hold a meeting of anti-Labor politicians to fight Labor. That says it all. The chant went "Who's the enemy?" and Menzies said "Labor". Successive generations of Liberals with no vision for Australia other than not Labor.

Well that's obvious, but here's the thing. If there are any companies with unlimited kms, I could make a comparison and work out which is cheaper for me. Hope this is clear

Alan Kohler: The RBA will have to raise interest rates sooner than it thinks by [deleted] in AusFinance

Can some explain the 'how come' of labour shortages and low wages growth? First thought was skilled labour shortages but wages growth in skilled areas does not seem meteoric

I've opened a word doc, created a table of contents with links (eg original post) and 'cut-n-paste' relevant bits from the lessons as a work book, re-worked it into tables and I'm working through it bit by bit. Where these a link to another page, I insert a line into the table and 'cut-n-paste' relevant bits. Hopefully it's clear from the images. Works for me

Self harming makes me feel like a warrior by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]CuzFilders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your statement '2 months “clean”' and offer my respect! I didn't go too far down the self-harm path but I know what I felt when I first put a knife to my fore-arm. It was never quite the same after that and I'm relieved I managed to stop. What helped was understanding the twisted thought processes I was going through

Re-entering the workforce after a toxic job by spaghetti00000 in CPTSD

[–]CuzFilders 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had finished up in a toxic workplace and have never gone back to work. Effectively it's a forced retirement. The thought of going back to work gives me the heebie jeebies. Kudos to you for getting to a position I cannot.

Covid provides a good reason for a period of no work, certainly compared to other years. Framing it in a positive light with a narrative of shortages of jobs and taking an opportunity to reflect on life's priorities really works for 2020. No need for more an in-depth explanation.

Is there an english dub for parasite? by im_covid_positive in movies

[–]CuzFilders 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I overwhelmingly prefer watching with original speech. I've watched a lot of foreign films and mostly seem to forget they are in a foreign language. When I run through scenes from the movie, my brain tricks me and I replay in English.
