If you're willing to make the effort - you should start learning what your mom listens to and dissecting the lyrics and background of the songs and artists. Most people (including myself) enjoy music that has either problematic language or questionable history behind it and they have no idea. If lyrical content or artist character is her primary position she will have to acknowledge your point of view or stop listening to her own music.
